****The Official Roseman Univ. Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

I literally just got back from the post office and sent in my packet. Luckily I had all my documents, birth certificate, SS card, and drivers license and paid the extra 10 cents per page for color. +pissed+
Also schedule a doctors appointment for my titers AND a CPR class for the just in case.
Did any other alternate send in the immunization record?

I understand the forms required from the school may seem a little too much, but you also have to understand that there is no timetable when you would be accepted off from the alternate list. It will be easier for the school AND an applicant when he/she gets accepted even a couple of days before the school starts.

From what I understood from talking with Ms. Haviland, you just need to send in color copies of your ID, the 2 signed forms, and the admissions info form. I sent in black and white ID's, and she said it was OK for now (should you get accepted, color copies would be required). She also mentioned for financial info, no forms need to be sent in, but it's a good idea to get started on your FAFSA.

Yeah i spoke with Alicia because I sent in everything but forgot the IDs. Made color copies of those and will go out tomorrow. Like jumping through hoops to be on the alternate list but I'm sure some people will find it to be too much trouble and not do it.

Well so far Roseman has been my only interview invite this cycle, so I'm grateful they even gave me the opportunity to be an alternate. Fingers crossed though 🙂

Roseman is one of the most expensive dental school. Does anybody know if we will be able to borrow the money that we need (we were told in the interview, ~110K per year) to attend? What if after I got admitted, I can't find the money to attend? My parents cannot help and I am basically penniless, but my credit score is 750, and I have no debt at this time. If someone could shed light on any financial aid topic here, I would really appreciate it.

Only 110k if you take out ~25k for living expenses on top of the tuition. And that's their estimate for living. Obviously there are things that can help done to decrease the living expenses ie roommate, significant other that can afford living expenses on their own, no car payment, etc. I'm guessing that most of the people don't actually take out the complete max. Either way you have good credit and zero debt so you shouldn't have any problem taking out what is necessary with the grad plus loans.

750 is more than enough to take out grad plus loans. As long as you don't have any outstanding issues (I.e : forgot to pay rent) , you're good. You don't need any credit history to get these type of loans.
Sorry, what do you mean by 750?

Apply through FAFSA. Graduate loans accrue interest. It will be a combo of Stafford and Plus loans. They will run a credit check on you, however, the only things that will bar you from a federal loan would be past bankruptcy or anything delinquent. Even if you have CC debt or other forms of debt, as long as things are in order and on time, you will be fine. Tricky part is for foreign students. No $$$ = no school. Since US students are virtually guaranteed funding, it's more of an issue for internationals and I think they require some proof that you will be able to foot the bill.

Question for those who are definitely going to Roseman- how soon should we be looking for housing/where?

If you know you're definitely moving to salt lake, or any city for that matter, I say you can never start too early.

Hi everyone! Congrats to those who have heard back and good luck to those who are still expecting to hear back!

I have an interview at Roseman scheduled for Feb. 20 (this Friday). Sort of confused - are they only interviewing for waitlist/alternate list right now? Did the seats for the class already fill?

Additionally, is anyone else interviewing Feb. 20? Im landing at 3:30 on Thurs Feb. 19 and was wondering if anyone wants to split a cab?

My return flight is at 8pm. Let me know if you're okay with giving me a ride to the airport.
What time is your flight? I made a reservation for a car rental and am planning to go to the airport after the interview. My return flight isn't until 11pm though.

hi guys! i was planning on going to the airport after the interview on feb 20 (morning one) as well. my return flight isn't until 8PM like dragonberyl. let me know if you have space for me! thanks 🙂

Sure, I can take you as well but our interview is in the afternoon. I'm not sure you'd want to wait for that long? Just let me know.

So for those wait listed, how do you guys feel about your chances

The honest answer is I have no idea.
My guess is that at least 50% of those who got interviewed were wait listed.

yea, I feel the same way, hopefully they are not actually full. With all this paper work for a wait list, it feels weird, and it almost like people on the wait list are being considered to a high degree.

I personally feel like the alternate list gets quite a bit of movement. Two reasons. 1) the school is pretty pricey so most would rather go to a cheaper school and 2) some might not even go through all the trouble to fill out forms and copy IDs just to be on an alternate list.

I really, really liked everything about the school and the Salt Lake area is hard to beat in terms of outdoor activities.

Stay positive, guys. We have much better chance than winning a lottery. Good news will arrive soon to some of us. As long as you have done everything you could, you will have to sit back and be patient. Plan out a fun travel in August just in case we don't get in this cycle 😉.

Yea true, for some odd reason I loved this school, the dental school building was probably the best I have seen. Hopefully there will be movement

Chances are pretty low IMO. Roseman is interviewing more people than ever, and its reputation is only getting better compared to few year back as a brand new school. i am gonna guess based on past data there's gonna be a good 200+ people on the waitlist by the end of June

Has anyone from the 2/6 afternoon session heard anything? I haven't gotten any emails yet, but I'm just curious if they haven't contacted anyone in that group.

I'm not sure what the status is for Feb 6th interviewees but I noticed that 2 individuals on SDN received the wait list emails already.

I interview 2/6 morning got wait listed

Yeah I noticed most of the people who heard back were people who interviewed on 1/26 and 2/6 morning, so I wonder if they just didn't get to the afternoon group and might wait until they finish up 2/20 group. I am just getting so nervous and anxious to hear something!

Myself and 2 of my group members for the group activity got waitlisted.

BTW, my interview session started at 12pm. I assume that is the afternoon interview. I was not aware there was a morning session. What time did that start?

I believe the morning session started at 8 am. I remember seeing them walking around while waiting for the 12 pm session to start

I think for those ppl who havent heard back yet will able to find out where we are this week or a week after the 2/20 interview. I interviewed on Jan and didnt receive email yet and those ppl who interviewed with me got wait-lsited so far. There are 34 members in class of 2019 in fb which implies there will be about 50 more to join later. I feel like Roseman will release decent amount of acecptance soon! hope for the best!

Well each day of interviews was 90-100 people for a class of 82. My guess is your prediction is pretty close to the truth. However, Roseman is the most expensive school and for that factor alone, I bet some students will back out.

I think there's been like 5 session so far. so low ball it at like 450 people interviewed already. and more people being interviewed and those guys will be added on the waitlist too.

Has anyone from Feb 6 been accepted or rejected? Just seems like a lot of wait list so far

I would recommend you take a shuttle since you're not on a time crunch on your arrival date. I used Express Shuttle and it cost me $19. Not sure how much a cab would cost but I'm assuming it's a lot more expensive? Good luck on your interview!

Hi! I also have it for the 2oth in the afternoon. What time is yours? Were you able to get a ride yet?

I have a room in my rental car too. My plane ride is at 5pm after morning interview so idk if you want to wait a couple hours at the airport. I was going to grab a bite after interviews hopefully with some other interviewees and maybe if time allows to do a quick tour of the spots before going to the airport.

Interview invitation! Scheduled for March 6th. Does anyone know how many seats are filled/available? I noticed that a lot of wait listing. I haven't really combed through this thread yet and hope I'm not re asking an answered question.

I dont know how many seats are filled. but this is like the 7th interview date so far. and they interview 90+ people at a time...wow.

With this many interview sessions it sounds like gaining acceptance as an alternate is slim.

has anyone not received a confirmation email after sending alternate packet? I sent my alternate packet 2/11

hey! I'm interviewing the 20th morning session too and my flight is at 5:25pm, would you have more room in your rental car?
Also, I get into SLC airport on the 19th at 7:30pm, if it's around the same time as yours maybe we could split the cost for the rental?

I hope not. But in February and March alone they will have interviewed 240 people assuming 80/day. Damn.
