hmm, thats weird.
i'd understand if they save some spots for post-dec interviews, but to save half seems odd
 
Interesting. I just found it odd that the first call from them went out before 7 am, but I've only seen a total of like 5 UAB acceptance posts throughout the day. Thought I'd see more people posting about it.

Some things we'll probably never know.
 
Is there a possibility that we can get a call before January or are we just going to have to play the waiting game again?

This is my main concern since deposits are due at the beginning of January. Orthoasst-Predent’s comment above implied that there were two acceptance dates for the incoming class, December 3rd and some elusive January date. I don’t know...this school is exhausting.

According to last years forum, some people got accepted before UAB goes on Christmas break so hopefully that will be the case.
 
^^^ I'm hoping that's the case and it's a big group. Would def make for a merrier Christmas.

Anyone know what requirements are (like GPA) and stuff like that after you get accepted?
 
Got accepted this morning!!! I'm going to be a dentist!!!!
Heres the update: they have called & filled the majority of the class, but there is still some seats open. I interviewed yesterday and they said there may be 2-3 more interview dates, but they were not sure yet. There was almost 1400 applicants this year & they give out ~150 interviews for 63 spots. Good luck and GO BLAZERS!!!!

Can I ask what your status was after the interview? What time did you get the call?

Last night I think it was still "invited for interview" and I checked after I got the call and it said "none" and it actually still says none but I'm guessing it will change in the next day or so! And I was actually at work and missed the first call at close to 9am CST from a "no caller ID" number so I was nervous I missed THE call and he called (with "no caller ID") again near 9:30am and I definitely picked up that time haha

It is a closed group so you have to be approved to join. If you know someone that is currently at UAB, tell them to let the D1 class president know that you were accepted so you can be approved to join the group!

Did you ever figure out how to get accepted to the page?
 
Did anyone miss their acceptance call? I just got a call from a "No Caller ID," but was at work and didn't have my phone on me. I know that's what shows up sometimes when Dr. Filler calls. I never get those calls and this would be a heck of a time for a coincidence like that, but I don't want to call up there if they didn't call me.

If you miss the call he usually calls back around 30 minutes later to see if you are available. Have you heard back again?

I spoke to someone who recently got accepted and they also missed their call but then got a letter a few days later in the mail. I guess we’ll see

Recently as in after December 3rd? If so when did they interview?
 
Do any of you know where on UAB's website we can submit the $200 deposit?

I missed mine and never received another call. I ended up getting a letter of acceptance a few days later.

Oh congrats! When do you interview and when did you get accepted if you don’t mind me asking.
 
Does UAB give any scholarship money for OOS students?
 
They reopen for spring semester tomorrow so hopefully this week.
 
I havent been interviewed yet, but my status just changed to none, I'm wondering what that could mean?
 
I received an email yesterday if I still want to be considered. I said no. Anyone else get this email?
(I have already interviewed.)
