***The Official UCLA Class of 2020 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

does UCLA require inorganic chemistry? On their website it says inorganic/general chemistry , but on the email they send you about the secondary it says inorganic chemistry only.
I believe general chemistry is inorganic chemistry. I don't think it means the upper division inorganic chemistry classes for chemistry majors, if that's what you're talking about.

Has anyone heard from UCLA yet? still nuthin

If ucla posted on adsas that they received/app complete does that actually mean its complete? Or should i email to double check whether my pdf file is blank or not?

I'm wondering about that too!

I'm wondering about that too!

I emailed Noemi on Monday and she just got back to me today. She said my application was formatted correctly and that they should start sending out interviews at the end of this month (on a rolling admin basis).

How soon after submitting the supplemental application were your AADSAS updated with UCLA?

Admissions said to contact them if it hasn't updated after 3 weeks and it's exactly 3 weeks today for me. I'm getting kind of paranoid that my money order got lost in the mail or my pdf wasn't formatted correctly. Eeeek!

mine took 25 days to show up

What could I write in the research portion of the secondary besides, N/A? I have no research experience.

Thanks in advance!

Lol just leave it blank after checking the "no" box. Really, if you have no research experience they don't want you to explain what other commitments you had in the section that specifically asks you to describe your research. No reason to overthink it. They want you to be succinct anyway.

I finally got my love's secondary letter, but now want to see the best reason to attend her? 😛 I have no research experience to dwell upon since they are so big on that. Did all the responses but why ucla

Thanks in advance!

If you love ucla you should have no problem explaining why you want to go there

I agree....why do YOU want to go there...not why me or anyone else would want to go

my reasons were b/c of the different specialties faulty teaching the students personally, having the best of the best. This all combined from each speciality level will make me a wonderful dentist at the end of the day.

UPDATE: They did let me change my date. When I sent the email to ask if I could reschedule, I gave them two available dates. They emailed back the next day, and chose one my two dates. But damn, they want my high school transcripts and social security card.. haha never been asked for those yet. Looks like I need to find my social security card now 😵
I thought that was intense! Heads up, if you applied to Harvard, they also request high school transcripts!!

I would contact them- they showed up super quickly for me.

Trust me already tried they rejected my supplemental so I resent it with correct size and another check

Still not updated

Any OOS get interview invites from UCLA yet? I'd hate to show them my high school transcripts haha

I submitted my secondary on 9/21 and ucla just showed up on my portal yesterday, in case anyone is wondering how long it takes

Quick questions about the supps, when you guys emailed it did you guys get a confirmation?

Nah, UCLA won't even notify you if you accidentally submit a blank supp haha. At least that's what I've heard/read from a few different people. But they should appear on your portal a few weeks after you submit and look for when your check gets cashed!

Or even when you don't hear back and ask them and re submit a correct supplemental and new check and they still don't show up on aadsas

How did you find out that they received your sup app then??

Have not yet. But I sent it to the right email a second time and they did receive the first but the file size was too large they just set it aside until I asked

I honestly did the same aha. It was 6 MB.. so I thought it would be okay... still my own fault I guess XD.

UCLA makes interview #5 for me!

I received the email last week. I had two dates to pick from in October. It doesn't seem like they have sent out any November invites yet.

So excited for this interview!! I've heard these adcoms are especially picky about how the girl applicants dress, any tips?

I've met some of the adcoms and the student on the committee and I can't think of how you would have heard that they are "especially picky" about girls outfits. I doubt that factors in at all unless you show up in something stupid like a tiny skirt or basketball shorts lol. When did you receive your interview?

I mailed my check and secondary two weeks ago but they have not cashed my check yet... On avg how long did your ucla check take to cash? I know my apps will take longer but I would think they would cash sooner, like most schools. Hopefully they have it

I submitted my secondary towards the end of September, on September 30th UCLA showed up on my AADSAS, but they still haven't cashed my check. I think they're just really slow.

Same here, even down to the specific dates. Good to know others are in a similar situation.

Submitted secondary app on 10-7-15
AADSAS updated to Received/Application Complete on 10-27-15

Got an Interview Invite Yesterday...has anybody here interviewed there yet? Any advice?

I had my interview 2 weeks ago. It is definitely an interview you don't need to stress about. First there's an essay (easy prompt, 30 minutes to answer) and then one interview (either 1:1 or 2:1 faculty to interviewee). The interview was relaxing and they definitely don't try to trick or stress you out.
