***The Official UCSF Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

:arghh:I'm dying to hear from this school! Mailed out 8/22, recieved complete email on 9/18.
3.6 gpa, 21TS/AA
1000+ hrs shadow/work experience plus leadership positions and extracurriculars and blah blah.
Where are they in the cycle! I'm getting nervous 😕
 
I got the supplemental app received email on 8/26 and haven't heard anything since. 24 DAT, 3.9 GPA, great shadowing and ECs. Should I start giving up hope?
 
Wow..I got an interview invitation from UCSF today.
I never imagined I'd get an interview here because I heard they love high stats.
So excited!!!!

22AA 22TS 21PAT / 3.4 sGPA 3.6 oGPA (it's what AADSAS calculated which is a bit different from what I had on my transcript)
I think I was 2nd batch. Received a supplemental on 7/10 and got another 'received supp app' email from the school on 8/6!
I am non-trad but have been doing lots of volunteering, shadowing, and working as a researcher with a few publications.

Thanks and haha here we go: OOS, DAT 20AA/20TS/20PAT GPA 3.8 overall and 3.76 science. Mail out date 7/11/14, supplemental complete and file under review email on August 28th.

It went really well. They feed you great food and a lot of it. Haha. There are two interviews. One with an upperclassmen and one with a professor. They are both pretty chill. We basically walked around and found a place outdoors where we could sit and have a one on one chat. Nothing too serious. The professor asked some ethical questions but that was about it. The interviews are about 25 minutes long. I fell in love with that place. Hopefully I will get in 😀

how did you introduce yourself or answer "tell me about yourself?"
 
Hi, all. Hopefully everyone is managing. It looks like UCSF is going over applications in Batch #5 for anyone that is curious. I hope they get to #7 before December.

Daniel, how do you know which batch you are in? Are you referencing your AADSAS mail date or your UCSF "application complete" date? Thanks.
 
UCSF goes in order of AADSAS application received. If you look at the acceptance/rejection thread, you'll see that their submission dates are in chronological order. A couple of my friends, including a person in the accept/reject thread have AADSAS submission dates that correlate with Batch #5.
 
Is batch number dictated by aadsas mail out dates or app complete dates? If mail out, what batch # does august 3 rd correlate to for mailout?
 
I'm confused about this. I don't see how the mail out date is relevant, as your app needs to be complete in order to be reviewed? At least this is what I though. I would think that they go by app complete date, but that doesn't sound correct based on what danielqta is saying?
 
Well, UCSF has a 2-3 week limit on completing your supplemental. So everyone in that batch should be in roughly the same timeframe based off that.

Ok, I get what you're saying, but what if you complete the supplemental and then your letters do not get in for a while? Do they still consider your app complete and review, or do they wait till your letters are in?
 
Good question. I wonder that myself. I hear that most schools consider your application based on the time your AADSAS application was submitted if you're only waiting on letters. I guess they understand letters are sometimes out of your control. I don't know about UCSF specifically.
 
One of my letters came in way later, so I'm hoping they just consider you based on your AADSAS date.
 
Same situation for me. I can say that some schools did email the day after my letters were loaded to my aadsas portal to notify me that my app was complete and beginning the review process.

Not sure about how it works with UCSF though?
 
Yeah, I got the same for UoP. So I just went through all 50 pages of the accept/reject thread to confirm the trend. lol So, there is a break in the trend. At the very beginning when UCSF first started sending out notifications, most of the people notified had crazy stats and some had AADSAS dates in mid-July.

I told them about my background, where I come from, where I go to school, what I am studying, mentioned my research projects, told them what I do in daily life, etc. Both of them then asked several questions about my research. It basically turned into a conversation after I started talking about my research, hobbies, and interests.

Received a rejection email from UCSF yesterday at 4:30 pm (PST).
AADEA AADSAS mail out date: 7/25
UCSF Application Complete email: 8/27

So I got my supp app on August 29th and got the email about receiving my supp on September 29.
(AADSAS mail out date was August 29th)

.. Haven't heard anything since..

Would you guys say that if they wanted to reject me they would have done it already?

Not really, cause it took them almost 1+mon before they contacted me. I don't have high stats, just the average, but they contacted me.. So, i guess wait a little more? I heard there are more number of applications being sent out during Sep and Oct. So they probabley need more time to go thru all the papers.

Has anyone's aadsas status changed after interview from 'invite to interview' back to 'complete/under review' on Nov 3rd? Or is it just me?
 
oh man, I wish I lived in California so that I can have a greater chance of getting an interview there....do OOS people have to have killer stats in order to get an interview there??
