Also, I know someone already said this, but a friend of mine was accepted at UNC but the calls went to his house. Don't worry if this happens, but he said they will leave a number (or something like that) where you can reach them and they will confirm your acceptance. They won't revoke your acceptance. 😉

Anyways, best of luck to all of you guys tomorrow and possibly into the future! Hope we alleviate some of the uncertainty floating around the UNC thread.
 
Ok well, I guess I will give it a day or two then.

I guess they already finished 1st committee meeting, if we didn't get phone call yesterday, then we will not hear anything until the 2nd committee meeting ,which is on January.
Sigh. 🙁

Hey guys has anyone gotten a call from UNC yet? Some of my friends have but some say that they are still sending out admissions this week. Can anyone confirm or deny this??
 
So I just called the office and the lady who picked up said that the individual committee members finished making their calls yesterday, as far as she knows :/
 
So do they just not have to tell us anything? I would really like to at least know I'm rejected so I could reschedule my classes....Think we will hear something else before Jan 10th or so?

Tell me about it 🙁 it wasn't Carolyn but the lady responded with a slight attitude. I asked nicely too..I mean, if anything, I guess there's that chance that not all the members finished calling everyone, depending on their schedules..but it seems more likely that we just have to wait until near the end of January. Though it'd be nice to know sooner so that I can plan out my next semester better >< Oh well~


On a brighter note, congrats to those who did get phone calls!

No, they don't finish with the vast majority of acceptances until Feb 1. Until then, you are still a part of the applicant pool and have the potential to receive an offer.

This is true. I was trying to hold on to the last glimmer of hope. 🙁 how late in January is their 2nd wave of acceptances? I wish they would notify before the next semester is in session.

Congrats to everyone who got the call! I am extremely envious. Haha

I know from a trustworthy source who works at the dental school that UNC does things a little differently than some other schools.. On Dec 3 they only give out ~30 acceptances and those only to minority students and students with the highest stats. One of their goals is to have the incoming makeup match the racial makeup of the state percentage-wise and they try to do that at the beginning. That said, if you didn't get a call yesterday, don't lose hope. UNC still has the majority of its acceptances to give out. You still have a chance if you didn't get the call yet. Good luck!

When is the next wave come out, late january? And if so is there a difference between in state and out of state acceptances right now?

I am so bummed out, I am in state and interviewed on the very first date in september I thought that meant i was a good candidate, but still didnt receive a call yesterday.

That I'm not sure about. I don't know if they choose more in-state vs. out of state at the beginning or if they just choose who will be the best candidates regardless of residency and then work it out in the second wave to get the numbers of in-state vs. OOS right.
 
Y'all, UNC just called me with an acceptance and they're making calls all today so don't lose hope! 😀

D: congrats!! That's awesome to hear on so many levels!! What time did you get the call? Sorry what I posted earlier was bumming news, but it's exactly what the lady told me :x Maybe she had to answer that question a lot or was just having a bad morning. At least it's a complete 180 for you! Hoping for the best~
 
there is definitely hope, that lady was probably just getting hit with a slew of calls. it may take them a day or two to get all the calls out. hoping for the best for all of you!

I also got an acceptance today @ 10:30! Guys, don't lose hope! I think they are making calls all day today!🙂
 
Nothing for me yet...I've got 5 more hours of hope though!

Damn that's crazy lol congrats. If you don't mind, what were your DAT and GPA? Also, in-state or out-of-state?
 
Great Job Seahawk! It makes my heart sink a whole lot, because my AADSAS hasn't changed 😡
 
Well they are obviously plugging away at this very slowly, I thought it was over at 5 yesterday and the world was ending...


In case curious: 3.95GPA, 20AA, In state, interviewed in Oct.

No, this is my first time, I am actually an early applicant.


They may be updating AADSAS as they go, I don't know. If I get a call I will probe them.

They might've called my house phone but that's in a different state so I don't know yet. I got a 23 AA 24 TS 20 PAT 3.9 GPA
 
Congrats you guys!! I'm so happy yet envious at the same time! Haha XP No call or status change for me.. =.= still got 1.5 more hours for today..

I'm waiting on a call too and my AADSAS status has not changed. However, I imagine they will change them all at the same time. Seeing as it is 4pm on the second day of acceptances, I would imagine they are finished with the acceptances at this point.

So anyone else who is still waiting, we are probably in this until January at the earliest, possibly later.

Realistically, I completely agree. This whole waiting thing is just excruciatingly stressful, but what's another month or so @_@ lol
 
Anyone have reliable info on how many people they've accepted so far, roughly?
 
For those that originally saw the change on AADSAS but got no call, have you received a call yet?
 
I haven't yet. I expect I will get one tomorrow...But who knows with their sporadic activity this year...
