***The Official University of Iowa Class of 2021 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Same. MyUI and AADSAS have not updated to reflect my acceptance either. Only got the email. Last year aadsas was pretty slow in status updates too, which may be why some of us got "invited for interview" decision dates after our interview.

Does anyone know if they send out more acceptances today or was it just the one round at midnight?

I am accepted. But there is no change on the school decision. I cannot find the payment link on MyIU, neither. What about you?

MyUI has a link in the admissions profile called "Accept our admission offer". It's further down the page.

I'm not sure, but based on previous years it looks like some more acceptances will be given tomorrow.
I wonder the same thing too. I also wonder why they send out the email to everyone at different times since during the interview, Dr Rachael just said that they established a list really quick and it should be sent out midnight Dec. 1st.

I didn't go to U of Iowa and I wasn't deferred admit either. But I did interview very early and am a reapplicant. Don't give up hope a lot of people get accepted in the next couple months.

They already informed people about being "deferred admit?" Is that the same as waitlisted?

I was talking about "preferred admit", a program Iowa has where if you're an undergrad at Iowa and you maintain a certain GPA and do well on the DAT you're pretty much automatically accepted. A friend of mine was one this cycle and she was accepted yesterday so I was just curious if only those types of in state applicants were accepted. But it turns out not to be the case

No it's an instate program where as an undergrad you can apply early to get an almost guaranteed spot provided you have a good interview. Its called the Deferred Admit Program (DAP). It's called "deferred" because you are "removed from" much of the regular admission process and a spot is tentatively held for you. This is the last year they're doing it. But if you are OOS right now, it doesnt mean anything to you. My point is that I got an offer Dec 1 as an Iowa resident but I did not participate in the DAP when I was an undergrad.

If I'm OOS but haven't heard anything back yet, does that mean I'm waitlisted or simply not accepted yet? I heard Iowa sends out more acceptances throughout December...?

You are not officially waitlisted until your application status changes to reflect that. Also I think you would get an email telling you that you've been put on the OOS waitlist (there's a separate waitlist for OOS and IS). So right now no news is good news! I hope you hear soon!

For the out of staters, I will be giving up my seat in the 2021 class and will be attending Marquette University in the fall!

I think there might be another round of acceptances next week before they break for winter recess. This is based of past threads.

Hopefully I don't jinx us again like I did with the Dec. 2 speculation, but last year I know someone on here as well as my friend that is currently a student heard back on Dec. 11. Last year Dec. 11 was the 2nd Friday of the month, which would translate to this coming Friday the 9th...

Let's hope so! This waiting and anticipation is killing me!

OOS accepted 12/1. So stoked!
Anyone know if Iowa sends snail mail letters as well? All I got was an email, no call. I want something to hang on the fridge to remind me it's real haha.

They send letters.

I just got mine today but if you check on the Iowa MyUI portal you can download a PDF of the letter.

I hope they send out more invitation soon, still waiting.
By the way, does interview date affect the order of sending out results? I got interviewed in November.

The admissions committee meets again on December 16th. That is the first time they meet since they sent out acceptances December 1st.
Did you call the admissions office to find that out?

thank you for sharing this info. where did you come to know of this?

So I wonder if this means that they'll let us know on the 16th after everything is said and done or if we'll have to wait until next week...

What is this myUI that I keep hearing about. I'm IS but not did not attend UoI.

It is where you can access your application status, register classes, and pay your bills. For those who don't go to iowa all that is useful is the school info, financial resources, and admissions status.

So is it mostly OOS people that have been accepted so far and some IS? Do they accept the majority of IS later on?

That's my understanding, hopefully we don't have to wait until January though.

just got deferred. so there that is.

Does deferred mean waitlisted or rejected?

Also, if we didn't get an email today is that a good or bad thing?
