I think mich is done with first acceptances since it seems like they went from east to west with their calls
 
Called admissions and they said that "no decision has been made" on my application. Interviewed October 2.
 
is intro to Psychology (Psych 101) sufficient for the pre req? Need to know. Thank you!!

Basically they said that I'm not accepted or rejected or waitlisted... So I'm nothing haha. I think it'll probably end up in a waitlist though. Hopefully I get a decision and a call for the January round of acceptances

Okay I'm in a bit of a pickle. I had a pre-dec interview and did not hear back from Umich yesterday. 🙁 I am missing their sociology pre-requisite and I need to plan whether to take it or not before the spring semester starts at my community college. If accepted, I would definitely go here as it is my dream school. Should I contact admissions and tell them my situation?

Does anyone know when they notify us if we were wait-listed or rejected? And are they officially done with acceptances?
 
How hard is it to get in state tuition after the first year at Michigan?

Anyone know if Michigan accepts enough students on December 1 to fill the in-state portion of their class?

They said at the interview that they save 2 interview dates (30 people each) for post-December 1st interviews
 
So I went through a few of the most recent years' Michigan threads and couldn't find a single person who got accepted post-Dec. 1 who interviewed Pre-Dec. 1. Seems like the remaining spots are reserved for those who interview at the last 2 interview dates...

I wonder if they have sent out their post Dec 1 invites because I don't think I saw any

I interviewed pre-Dec (October) and was put on the waitlist and got in later! It doesn't matter whether it's pre-Dec or post-Dec.

FYI winter break is from 12/19-1/5, so I wouldn't email/call them during the time period 😀

My friend had the same issue last year. After a lot of deliberation he chose his state school...saving over $150,000+. I asked him a lot of questions during the app cycle, but he is really happy with his decision. Saving money, being close to home, and having that sense of familiarity and an established network and support group. Hope this helps!!
 
If one has a curiosity/interest of specializing in either oral surgery or perio (maybe even pediatrics), would going to Michigan be of great help? The mentality that some people have given is as follows: for a school like Michigan, it's harder to reach the top 10% of your class (though the importance of rank varies, I assume, with respect to the specialty), so one would be better off at a dental school in which it might be easier to reach that top 10%; on the other hand, a school like Michigan is quite renowned, and so a student that is, say, top 15% or top 20% might have a better chance than a student that is top 10% from a school that is not fairly renowned. Any insight on this (hopefully from a dental student)?

Also, do students have time to go on externships?
 
does Michigan even use the AADSAS portal? I applied to Michigan several months ago, and I don't even have the school listed on portal.
