I know that we are al technically supposed to be hearing back sometime today, but I'm curious if the acceptances are just for those who interviewed post-December. :/

Waiting for an email sounds horrible right now, although that'd be the best thing to do. But I'm considering calling just so we get a clear answer.

Yes, the calls made today were ONLY for people who interviewed post-December. However, more spots should still be offered in the coming days along with the waitlist/rejection emails. *Fingers crossed!

you call them up? so now the spots can be offered to pre and post december?

Pretty bummed but I'm glad there's still some hope! Congrats to those who were accepted. 🙂

Hey, yes I did and that's basically what I was told. I figured that if we didn't hear back today then it's an automatic waitlist or rejection, but that might not be the case as more acceptance could still be given out.

For those who will be put on the waitlist soon...
I'd encourage you to send a sincere/professional/well-organized letter of intent to the admissions.
Continually showing your interest is the best way to approach them.
However, I wouldn't bother them by calling them too frequently because it might harm you.

Last year around this time, I was in your shoes.
I know exactly how it feels.
I know how difficult it is to plan out your future with many uncertainties.
But trust me, everything will be fine.
And in the end we will all become good tooth janitors.

They just sent me a lanyard and headphones in a cool UMich case in the mail... I feel loved.

Does anyone else find it slightly disturbing that they mentioned 20 spots were open for the final two interview sessions yet only 3 have been offered? Flying across the country for this interview sounds like it was a waste of money and interviewee's were mislead..

Does anybody know how much the April enrollment fee costs?

How do you know that only 3 people were offered admission yesterday?

I called admissions and this is what I was told. They overcommitted themselves to previous interview sessions anticipating more would drop but have not. Besides the 3 of 60 applicants from the last two interview sessions, everyone was doomed before the interview even began lol, my plane ticket was 700$ ouch

yeah... I don't really believe this post whatsoever

Yeah it is hard to believe but the lack of activity on this thread is kinda weird. And the fact that they said they may accept more in the near future? I don't think all 20 seats were given out.
To even further this, I just checked the fbook page and only 3 people have joined the effin group since Friday. It's 2016 folks, everyone who gets accepted is joining that fbook group asap, already behind the eight-ball on where to live next year..

Actually, thinking about this more, I don't know what to believe...

This seems like information that the adcom would not want to release tho. They told us there were 20 spots for 60 people and were very upfront about dates, waitlist movement etc.. Why would they tell you that and admit to a lie? Also, all seats would have been claimed by Jan 1st, well before our interviews, so they knew the available spot #

Also, we have one SDNer get an acceptance and that one poster knew of three people. Unless the SDNer was one of the three, somethin is not adding up.

Take it for what it's worth, but I just know there's no way 20 folks were offered from the last 2 sessions as admissions implied, so personally I wouldn't use the words admissions and upfront in the same sentence lol

Applicants double down on deposits, and then withdraw throughout the process so it's not an exact science, but the point being they grossly overestimated the number of available spots for the last two interview sessions
