Applicants double down on deposits, and then withdraw throughout the process so it's not an exact science, but the point being they grossly overestimated the number of available spots for the last two interview sessions

Wait, so were you told that only 3 people were offered admission or just that the amount of spots were overestimated?

But then there was also that person who said she/he called and admissions told that person that they will make more offers and send emails for wait listed or rejected.

Well that makes things much more interesting, I hope for the sake of all the folks who invested the time and money into make the trek across the country that I was again given misinformation and 20 spots were in fact offered..

But then there was also that person who said she/he called and admissions told that person that they will make more offers and send emails for wait listed or rejected.

I did call, and like I said earlier, I was told that more acceptances should go out sometime this month, along with waitlists/rejections. However, I am not aware of how many people did get accepted post-December or anything of that sort.

So has anyone heard anything yet today? At the interview two weeks ago ik they said they would definitely have wait lists and rejections sent out by today.

They also said they would giving out offers to 20 people from the last two interview sessions which they haven't, so it's hard to believe anything they say at this point lol

Is there anybody that can confirm or deny this?

Yes they said 18 on my interview day,
I know of 3 people who are in state that recieved the call on Friday

I talked to admissions earlier. They are determining whether they will open the class to a few more spots. Everyone else will know if they're accepted/waitlisted/rejected by the end of the week

So as of right now the class is full? And they are debating on whether to have a larger class size?

So they clearly didn't give out 18 more spots, 10 at most but I'm skeptical even that many given only 6 have joined the fbook group

Ah, this is too much right now! Well I hope it all works out for us all. I hope those of us pre-December interview people will also possibly get acceptances, but who knows.

Not sure if this helps with anyone's math but I interviewed on 1/22 and I'm in state and was accepted last Friday. I hope people OOS didn't feel like they wasted their money...but I really feel like the admissions committee wouldn't lie about the 20 person thing...idk though :/

Lol ya zero chance they offered 20 people, not even sure why I'm surprised by anything adcom's say at this point lol

Does anyone know when people get off the wait list? And how many people are on the wait list anyways?

The steps look like a lot of work, haha. I'll go ahead and do it after the mall. Wish I could just call :writer:

Yeah it is surprisingly long, haha. If you're a former/current Umich student you already have the necessary links I think, because I didn't have to go through the whole process. Also, if you don't mind me asking what school have you decided on?

Wait listed as well. Anybody know how many people are usually on the wait list? I remember she said they usually offer 5 to 10 acceptances to wait listers

Just innocently posting some facts here.
According to ADEA 2014 guidebook:
17.9% of Umich enrollees are Asian, but 30.9% of Umich applicants are Asian
70.7% of Umich enrollees are White, but 48.9% of Umich applicants are White

According to ADEA 2015 guidebook:
12.8% of Umich enrollees are Asian, but 28.6% of Umich applicants are Asian
70.6% of Umich enrollees are White, but 50.0% of Umich applicants are White

I'm not stating that racial discrimination occurs in the Umich application process or there is discrimination towards Asian applicants, for many other factors could be involved in application selection. However, I sure as hope as for how much this University claims to strive for diversity that they live up to it.

So what if you didn't get a waitlist or rejection email? (Yes, I checked my spam folder.) Still stuck waiting in the middle? Thoughts? I interviewed in October.
