***The Official University of the Pacific Dugoni Class of 2018 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

Anybody want to make a FB group for those who are going to UOP??

^Any suggestions then? I tried to have some fun making the group.

Congrats, if you don't mind to ask, what is your stats?

GPA (science, total): 3.52, 3.42
DAT: 21 AA/21 TS/22 PAT/20 RC

I know that the application is not just numbers and stats so I hope that this may also help than just looking at scores. I conducted research during my undergrad years and published a paper (1200 hours). I also did a lot of community service hours (400 hours) and dental shadowing hours (200 hours) as my extracurricular activities.
I hope this helps! And I wish you good luck! 🙂

Got an interview call 1/8/14. There were multiple dates to choose from, Jan 15th, Jan 22, Jan 29 and one in February as well. UoP interviews on Mondays and Thursdays.

Anyone know if an interview in the later half in the cycle is still a good indication that you'll be accepted? (Since UoP has a reputation for accepting most of its interviewees?)

And for those interested:

CA resident
AADSAS mail-out date: 10/03
Application under review email: 10/06
GPA (science, overall): 3.87, 3.91
DAT: 23 AA /24 TS/ 21 PAT/ 22 RC

Has anyone who interviewed from Dec still not heard back yet?

Congrats! Did they give you multiple dates to choose from? Was that the earliest interview date?
They made me choose between two interview dates. One in January and one in February. So I picked the earliest one 🙂

Just interviewed at UOP yesterday! It was my first time at the new campus, and the facilities are AMAZING. Also the staff, faculty, and students are EXTREMELY friendly and encouraging. The whole interview day was very relaxed and basically an open session to really ask questions to see if the school is right for you. There was a very easy writing portion in the beginning and end (the last writing portion was more of a survey). There's an hour long interview with a faculty member or alumni, and a 30 minute interview with a student. Both are very casual and just a way to get to know you. Best of luck to those who have interviews! I hope to hear good news in the future! :xf:

Do you know how long they will be giving out interviews?

Just talked to admissions and they said the class is full and all interviews from now are for alternate positions.

Sooo I got a call on 1/20 and was offered an interview for Feb 2... You think they would have told me then and there if it was for an alternate spot?

What kind of questions do they ask for the writing portion?

What kind of questions do they ask for the writing portion?

From what I remember, everyone had a different writing prompt. They were pretty easy questions. I'm sure they just want to see that you can write. Mine was "What three attributes would you want to see in a health care provider." I forget what other people had. Best of luck to you!

Just got the called from UOP that I'm on the alternate list since the class is full. At least there is still hope :/

does anyone who interviewed on 1/12 get any news? @jtsantos, did you call to uop or they call to you? Thanks!
I called Janelle this morning for the status of my decision, and she mentioned that I would receive a call later today or tomorrow at the latest. I received the call at noon.

Also, does anyone know the criteria for their alternative list ranking? From last years official acceptance thread, I know students are put into quartiles. Also does anyone know around when in April they will release the rankings?

Does anyone know if they finished interviewing all the 2+3 students?

Janelle said that usually by the beginning of the school year (July) they get through 2 quartiles, maybe even the beginning of the third.

You can check which quartile you're in by calling. Keep in mind that they also rank the students within the quartiles, so even if you interviewed earlier than someone else, they'll take the "best" applicant.

Hey guys,
I interviewed on January 29th and like everyone else I'm anxious to hear back. How long did you guys wait before calling the school about your ranking or quartiles information?

Hey guys,
This is my first visit to the forums, so I'm trying to play catch up. My AADSAS shows that my application is "Received/Under Review" but I haven't received any correspondence from the school or interview invitations. Does this mean I'm rejected? Will they send a notice or just wait for the school year to start and hope you figure it out, lol.

Thanks guys!

So for those that interviewed on January 29th, I was told that they are still reviewing the applications. I called this morning and was informed that we will hear from the school in about a week or so. So good luck everyone!! 🙂

Agh! So nerve-wracking! I was really hoping they'd stick to making a decision two weeks after interviewing

Has anyone who interviewed the first week of february heard back yet about anything? ^ Frantic just as above and it looks pretty grim if they're giving out waitlist already...

And do you think they give out preference to students from UoP who are not in the accelerated program?

Quoting @summersbro

Truthfully, your stats are miles above all the others in the program. If they have space left, I'm sure they would hand it to you, esp if you're from the undergrad. I'm in the program and I can tell you most of my peers are scraping by with the minimum reqs.... Well, here's to your acceptance. I'll be rooting for you. Cheers!

Do you think it'd be too early to call to ask about my admission status? I interviewed Februaru 2nd so it's been 3 weeks
I waited only two weeks to give a call to the admission office, haha. They did mention at my interview to give them a call if we weren't contacted in three weeks, so I'm sure it wouldn't hurt to give a call!

I guess they are not so quiet anymore. I just received a call and they put me on the waitlist!! This battle is not yet over!

Are you a Cali resident? Did they tell you what quartile you're in?

Yes I'm a resident in California but they did not tell me what quartile I'm in. They told me that once all students have turned in their down payment for the waitlist then they will begin to rank the students.

I think they're running a little bit behind, they told me I'd hear back by the end of the week last week. Never got a call so I'm assuming they're pretty busy!
