I received the, "your application is under review by the Admissions Committee..." email on July 9th. Stated further correspondence will be sent out in the Fall of 2018, so probably in August will be the next update from them.

I am OOS and submitted my app. on July 3rd and just got the email that my app is complete and they have all my information. Best of luck everyone!

Good luck to you to! Not gonna lie that your notification in this thread made me think they were starting to send out interview invites! haha

Sorry about that lol! But hopefully we should be hearing from them soon!

Have you heard anything else from them?

My last email from them just stated that my application payment has been approved (title of the email is "Payment Confirmation" and my status on AADSAS is "verified". That was at the end of June.

Should I contact them or just continue to wait? I've received no information about a secondary or that I've been moved to the review stage.

Thanks for any help (also if anyone else can give me some advice or input)!

Should I have just send in my secondary? I thought we were supposed to wait from them to send us a link for it (after we submitted our application)? Thanks.

Yes I just heard from them on August 12th that my app. has been received and is under review. I submitted to AADSAS on 6/25 and submitted my supplemental fee on 7/13. Best of luck!

The supplemental for Utah was in the AADSAS application. All you had to do was pay the fee and send in a 2x2 picture of yourself, or at least thats what my email said.

Hey, thank you so much!

Here's what my last email from them stated: "Your University of Utah School of Dentistry application fee payment of $75.00 has been approved. Please use this email as a receipt for your payment." My status is "verified" on the AADSAS for them too.

So, you think I'm good to just continue waiting and don't need to worry about asking about a secondary? (Just confirming! 😉)

Yeah I think you would be fine waiting, but if emailing them would put your mind at ease, than go for it. Often times, however, schools don't reply. Best of luck.

Looks like interviews should go out either this week or next, if it is the same as past years.

Congrats!! Seeing all your invites gives me hope as my stats are similar to yours! I'm just about a month behind you though in my submittal dates.

Are you URM (if you don't mind sharing that)?

Good luck in your many interviews!!!

Nope not a URM; however I believe my ECs, PS, and letters were really strong and may have compensated for the lower stats I have.
I think the key was to apply early, so I made sure to have have all my stuff submitted by July.
Best of luck to you, as well!

Crazy that so many dates are still available.. anyone know if the U doesn’t interview a ton of people? I know they have a small class size but still..

Does anyone know if Utah favors in-state applicants or applicants from neighboring states?
They try to accept 25 IS and 25 OOS each year. That's their goal. I think they do that to avoid flooding Utah with more dentists than we already have. So OOS have a huge advantage applying here, and it is very competitive IS.

It seems like each day had only 4 or 5 time slots, so looks like they interview 4 or 5 a day each of those 6 available dates

Congrats! So awesome to get an interview to this school 🙂

Can you tell me if your status ever changed from "Received/Application Complete" to "Received/Under Review"?
I got mine in a few weeks later than you did, but my status hasn't changed to it being under review yet and I'm wondering if Utah changes it or just leave it as being complete.
Thanks and good luck!!

(If anyone else can answer this, that would be great too!!)

I received an interview invite today, and my status said received/application complete. It never changed to under review. There were some slots left, good luck!

Hey, congrats!!!

When was you application complete? And, are you from Utah?
Thanks!

does anyone know why there is such a disproportionate male to female enrollment ratio? just checked ADEA and it says 302 men/148 women applied but the class enrollment was 40 men/ 10 women. Are they offering less spots to women or are women not accepting offers?

Their goal is to have 50% IS, 50% OOS as well as a 50/50 split male/female (the dean of admissions is pretty open with this stuff). The ladies must be turning down offers.

Anyone interview here recently and have any insights?

Interviewed Friday. All I can say about the school is WOW, extremely rigorous and underrated school.

The interview questions were very basic (generic) ones that you can practice and I think it'll give you a leg up.

Good luck!

I would check the forecast before you go. Nothing would be worse than walking in to your interview looking like you just took a shower. As far as temperature goes, if you’re not used to temperatures around 50 degrees then it might be a little cold.

About the weather: For the past couple of weeks I've been running the heater on my way to work/school and the A/C on the way home. And we could be getting snow here in the next couple weeks. Utah is fun like that 🙂

About the interview: Nothing to stress over. Three very conversational interviews. They don't have set questions or a set number of questions, they just want to get to know you a bit. They will ask some stereotypical "job interview" style questions, so be a bit prepared, but don't stress!

Yeah can anyone who has interviewed shed some light on this?

Perfect that you for the info. Do you know if it’s open file? Or closed file?? Or halfclosed??

It's cold. Bring a jacket/coat. The leaves haven't fallen as of yet, but there is snow in the mountains. If I remember right the interview is open file. I only got asked about my personal statement though. There isn't anything to stress over! Just go and enjoy your visit. The faculty and students are all very friendly and supportive. And the lunch is awesome 🙂
