I prefer not to put stats on here but I'm in state and applied June 4th, and mailed the supplemental a couple days later.

People are just trying to get the feel of what stats UNLV is offering interviews to. Nothing personal to you or your stats...no one really cares just curious to see what they are considering acceptable. You don't have to post your stats I'm just making clear we aren't all trying to be nosy.

It wasn't that bad, just basic information if I'm remembering correctly. And a picture.

they have a supplemental app? was it long?

it's on their website. and it's recommended that an applicant completes it concurrently with their aadsas submission.

if you applied there...and you haven't...son...

Ahhh I'm so jealous. I think I'll actually be pretty upset if I don't get an interview from them 🙁

hi
Does anyone who got interview so far have 1 semester / 2 quarters of Biochemistry already?
or do you guys have it listed as planned courses on AADSAS? Do they accept students who take 1 quarter + lab ?

I'm taking ochem 2 now and biochem in winter so I just have it as planned.

Got an interview invite by email today! 😀 Have yet to schedule a date though. I'm OOS, for anyone wondering.

Just scheduled my interview date yesterday! October 18. Anyone else interviewing on this date?

Those who got interviews for UNLV SDM, are you OOS? I know shiftparadigm confirmed it, but just wondering about the rest?

Im flying from Philadelphia, so its a hike mission for me ha. See you all there!

Oct 18th for me as well!! See you guys there🙂

I got an interview on the 18th!, coming from Houston.

Just wondering if you're renting a car or just sticking with the taxis,.. seems like taxis would be pretty abundant in Vegas..

Louisville according to my ADEA account says my app was received 7/15 and that the status was
Received/Waiting Additional Information . I never received a email conformation or supplemental stuff from them. Does that mean I basically got rejected?

Does anyone know if UNLV has given out all its interviews already?

Did you receive additional email confirmation after you faxed in your signed confirmation?

I guess it doesn't matter at this point-I'll just show up. LOL

Anyone interviewing on 11/08 would like to split the cost of a hotel room?

Interview Invite today!
3rd batch, CA resident.
Under review email 08/13.

I just received an interview from UNLV two and I'm stoked! But now I'm having trouble finding more detailed info on the school- like what is the curriculum like? Technology on campus? How is the clinic? What is the patient base? Basically more info for someone who is looking into the school. Their website and sdn haven't been super helpful.

Anything helps! Thanks

Has anyone received a rejection from this school yet?

It was a very relaxed interview. Lots of info before about curriculum, class profile, tour, and financial aid. Interview was split into two 30 min interviews. One was with a current student and the other with a faculty member. The student interview was very relaxed and really just like having a conversation. The faculty interview had a few more actual questions but still very informal. They really just want to get an idea of your personality. Very much a stress-free day.

Booked for December 6th! Where did you guys stay, and how did you get to the school? I don't have a car and a taxi is like 40 bucks from Golden Nugget 🙁

I stayed at the Hilton on the north end of the strip. And is the $40 taxi ride your talking about from the Golden Nugget to the UNLV main Campus? Because the dental school isn't on the main campus. It was only like a $15 taxi ride for me from my hotel to the dental school. Ride only took about 10 min.

The golden nugget is only like 1.5 miles away so I doubt the taxi is expensive.

I stayed at Mandalay Bay, and I think the cab fare was around 20-ish.

Interview was VERY laid back, so no need to be nervous. They try to get to know you on a personal level to see if your a good fit for the school, rather than hounding you about why you want to be a dentist and such (although you may want to expect that question at every interview).

They mentioned it was quite easy and common for students to become a resident of Nevada after 1 year. However, I noticed that one of the requirements was to file income tax in the state.. does that mean students are working while going to school for their first year.. that seems difficult. Anyone have any insight on this?

Finally received an interview from this place! Emailed me this morning.
Dec. 13th was the earliest.
Lucky Friday the 13th!!!

yes. you file federal a federal income tax return making sure it reflects your nevada address.

you need not meet minimum taxable income levels to file a return, just do it to check off the box and lower your tuition.

it's pretty clearly laid out here: http://www.unlv.edu/assets/admissions/docs/residency-app.pdf
