**** The Official UoP Class of 2017 Interview/Acceptance Thread ****

I'm going to UOP in July!!!

I'm so excited!
Crm, congrats!!! How was the interview experience? How did the students seem (I've read on SDN a couple times that they didn't seem excited during the tour, did you notice or sense that at all?). And also how many other interviewees were there with you? Again, congrats!!! 😀 I'm interviewing there on March 4 and I'm really looking forward!

Got the same thing....do you think this means we are pretty much rejected?

I dunno.. this is my first time posting in the UoP thread, but my status got changed to the same thing today too... does anyone know if we should still keep hopes up or not? and how long does UoP interview until?

I called them the other day and they said they interview until late march... but my guess is that after february everything is for a waitlist spot.

Definitely still keep your hopes up! I'm a Pacific student and I know that we are still actively interviewing, meaning that there are likely still some seats waiting to be filled as well as spots on the wait list. Most people who are relatively high on the waitlist will be accepted. An interview from Pacific is a big deal as we interview a very limited number of applicants, and even if you are wait listed there is still a good chance that you will be offed a seat for c/o 2016. If you are wait listed and do not receive a seat, admissions will more than likely offer you a seat for c/o 2017 as long as you express interest.

Feel free to PM me with any questions, and good luck!

ddslove789 I, along with others want to thank you for your informative posts. They have been really, really helpful in both getting to know UoP better and also debunking some serious myths. Since you offered I'll send ya quick pm with a couple questions if you don't mind. Once again, thank you so much for the information! 🙂

I wonder how many more seats they still have to give out, my interview is still 2 weeks away...

I just gave up my seat and scholarship this past Friday, so there's at least one spot available! Good luck 🙂

The interview experience was extremely relaxed. My day began with an essay, then information sessions about FinAid and upcoming changes to the school, etc, followed by lunch w/ students, tour and then a student interview followed by a faculty interview (I think some interviewed with the student second) , then another presentation followed by a final essay. The touring student seemed out of it, but the students I lunched and interviewed with had a lot of good things to say.

The prompts weren't difficult and only the first was timed. Both interviews are very easy-going and you shouldn't worry about anything. There were only 7-8 of us at my interview, and I heard that's the standard size. The school's very nice and I'm sure you'll have a great time interviewing, and hopefully you get accepted!

Thanks for the information. That gives me a small hope.

Oh wow. Mind sharing what's the reason behind that?

can you tell us more about the essay how long was it and what was the topic, please ?

Yours said final review? My status changed to "allow 7 to 8 weeks to review".....my status before that said re-review in January...

Mine now says "Final Review" and also, "Allow 7-8 weeks to review"...as in wait that long to receive a rejection perhaps...because that'd be mid-April-ish, which is when my friend was rejected last year

I'm assuming its because ATG20 got into UCLA 😛

You are correct, Sir! I'm a SoCal resident and didn't feel SF was a good fit for me. I have a third-party scholarship for UCLA also, so that was the deciding factor. That being said, Pacific was my main choice among the schools I heard from in Dec. 🙂

I won't tell you the topic because I don't really remember it and it's not anything for which you can prepare. I don't recall a length requirement. I wrote semi-large and filled up the front side. Others at my table had both sides filled up. Everyone seemed to have a different prompt too.

I wrote 4 different essays this cycle, and Pacific's was by far the easiest. It's based more on a question about personality than anything technical. You'll be fine!

Has anybody been wait listed yet? Or are they still giving out seats?

ATG20, Thank you!! And congrats on both UoP and UCLA 🙂

Does anyone know what days they typically call out? Or I could ask does anyone know the days their committee meets? lol 🙄

I have a questions for those who received scholarship from UoP. I received an acceptance over the phone, and Ms. Janelle mentioned something about a scholarship. BUT, because I was so freakn excited, I wasn't able to catch what she said.

For those who received the scholarship, did you receive the scholarship information inside the packet or did someone contact you over the phone or email after the acceptance phone call? Thanks 🙂

Hey Japan, sorry I can't answer a question about the scholarship, but may I ask when you interviewed? Congratulations by the way!!😀

Nevermind xD I didn't realize that I already asked you the same question!

She'll mention it during your acceptance call, and you'll have an additional document in your envelope when you receive it asking if you'd like to accept/decline the scholarship. They state that if you accept, you need to attend certain functions. I'm not sure what they meant, but I assume banquets or something of the sort where financial donors are thanked.

I was so excited I couldn't distinguish the dollar amount she said, so I called her back an hour later, lol. The two amounts are either $30,000 or $60,000 (spread over 3 years).

Just received the call!
Accepted with scholarship!
Sooo excited!! 😀

WHOA!!!! Awesome, congrats!! 😀

(I'm booking my flight/hotel room now... fingers crossed) 🙂

Stay at The Majestic. It's nice and quaint, and is within walking/short cab distance from the university. Ask for a university discount or book through hotels.com and you can save more.

Like Winston said, just relax. If this isn't your first interview, you'll have heard it all already and the interview is zero-stress. Walk around SF and take in the sights. Just have some questions for them! I felt like my interviews were largely me asking them questions.

Would those who got the scholarship mind posting your stats/ECs? Just curious what it took.

Thank you!
Stay confident, be genuine and you'll do great!

Thank you :xf:

Thanks ATG20. It's not my first interview so I'll try to channel some calm from my previous experiences.

I really appreciate your advice as well as Winston's. I really hope to get accepted to UoP, especially if this is how helpful and welcoming all of my future peers would be. 😍

Hey, did you receive your scholarship information after you put in your deposit to hold your seat or did they let you know even before that?

Just got the call!! :soexcited: Best VALENTINES day!!! :biglove: I interviewed February 7th and got in today but with no scholarship unfortunately

Hey Congratulations!! Looking forward to seeing you there this July!

Congrats, Erbear!!

Question to anyone who might know: How heavily do the student interviews weigh on the final decision? I know some schools give their student interviewers a say in the final vote, and some schools do not count them at all. Does UoP give them a vote, and if so how much does their vote count? I'm asking because I noticed there is only 1 faculty interview at UoP and the other schools I interviewed at had 2 faculty plus a student interview.

I think that's because UOP interviews to accept. Their interviews are mostly just to make sure you honestly presented yourself in the rest of your application, not grill you.

Of course this may be more true pre-dec than post, and It's just my opinion 😛

Any other married with kid(s)? Trying to figure out budgets and a place to live.

Just got invited for interview today! I was seriously in tears. My third time applying and I finally got through. I wonder what my chances are this late in the game though...

Congrats Erbear... Ugh lucky... I interviewed on the 4th and still haven't heard back from them. T_T Things don't look too good.

Awesome!!! What day?

And I wonder the same thing about my own interview... excited, but still wondering what my (our) chances are...

Just got an interview! I knew it was a reach with my stats, but UoP is my dream school and the risk was definitely worth it!! I'll be interviewing on the 8th of April. Most likely for waitlist spots. Has anyone ever heard that applicants that get put on the waitlist typically get in the next cycle? SO EXCITED!! 😀

Finally put in my deposit for UOP! Does anyone know if there is a facebook page for the c/o 2016?

Received an interview yesterday for April 4th. Pretty sure it's for a spot on the waitlist. I'm still stoked though since I haven't gotten in anywhere!

I'm assuming it's over for those of us who haven't heard anything... 🙁
