I got an email for a alternate spot, what does this mean?

Means that you're interviewing for a spot on the waitlist unless you already interviewed then you are on the waitlist lol

I believe it is ranked after everyone has interviewed in mid to late april by how competitive your application and interview together are as a whole.

After my interview they told me that the waitlist is ranked based on your application as a whole. Interview date for alternate spots shouldn't matter. They also told that you'll be ranked into quartiles. Typically alternates from the top two quartiles will be offered a spot between sometime between the second deposit (April 14/15) up till classes start in July.

I’m holding off on my second deposit for another school because of here. I may just call it quits for this one because I still haven’t even gotten an interview here and I applied in early June. When I called last month they said they would be holding until interviews up to April. Since it’s already halfway through March, I think I don’t have a chance. Congratulations though to everyone else!

The admissions director is gone this week and next week is spring break for them so probably not until the week after that

I called a couple times and asked a billion questions regarding alt list and my application status, but nothing other than that.

Haven’t heard a peep from UoP yet since I applied back in July. 🙁 Should I just take that as a silent rejection? Does UoP not send out any rejections until August?

Well since there're four quartiles and, according to them, there're 50-60 in the waitlist, 12-15 in each quartile
