***The Official UPenn Class of 2020 Interview/Acceptance Thread***

For those who received an interview how long did it take to receive the interview packet? I live in CA its been a week and havent got anything.

Also curious to know why penn requests official transcripts?

Same for me. It took about a week to get the packet. I don't know why they need a official transcript tho.

Do they notify interview invite by e-mail?
Also, if you get rejected, does the portal change?
I am currently out of country so i am very worried..

They don't receive official transcripts from AADSAS, they just get verified grades that you inputted and were verified by AADSAS. They have it for hard copy and supposedly, it's also used for when you apply to specialties?

Yes, the interview invite is by e-mail. If you get rejected, the portal wil not necessarily change because Penn does not use the AADSAS portal as the primary means of notification. It only changed to Under Review and remained that way pre and post interview and pre and post acceptance.
 
do we send transcripts from all institutions attended or just the school we received our degree from?

Wait... They use our official transcripts for when we are applying to specialities!? Please say this isn't so! I thought I had a clean slate :'(

I have my interview here on Jan. 28th! For everyone that has interviewed here, what was the interview day like? How many interviews were there (and about how long)? Were the interviews with professors only or with D3/D4 students as well? Were the interview questions pretty typical? Sorry, for the overload of questions haha. Starting to get a pretty nervous :nailbiting: I would love to hear any advice/tips from those that have already interviewed 🙂 Thanks in advance!

Very relaxed day. You will have 2 separate interviews with faculty members. I'd say they were about 30 minutes each. Just be yourself, they aren't trying to trick you!

Yeah. Got the call from Corky today. She started talking about the weather where I'm from and then the weather in Philly for a while. And then she said I got accepted. I am on the fence about accepting the offer, however, and I know a friend of mine who just got in to Columbia is giving away his spot too for Penn. So, there are always some spots opening up!

This is probably a stupid question, but do we fill out the 2015-2016 fafsa or 2016-2017? The financial aid checklist says 2015-2016; just making sure!

We fill out the 2016-2017 FAFSA but will be documenting our 2015-2016 taxes... they probably didn't update the dates on the checklist 🙁 When do we need to turn it in by?

I called the office and the dates listed online (mid Feb) aren't final at all. I was told by mid March and you'll be fine. Most people don't even get their tax return info back until then.
 
For those who put their deposit down, do we need to send a transcript to AADSAS for the academic update?
 
I don't know if this means anything but my status on aadsas for penn went from 'application received' to 'under review' 2 days ago.
 
anyone from 1/14 or 1/15 interview hear anything? Corky mentioned it would be around 2 weeks for a response

What scholarships are available? How many spots are available for the Dean's Scholarship (I hear this is half-tuition)?

It is from 10k to 30k for scholarships. Usually, 30-40 people get one in that range.
So, spots are very limited at this point.
 
Good luck everyone. Who knows? I am making decision to attend or not in three weeks 🙂
