The Official VCU Dental Class of 2019 Interview/Acceptance Thread

Has anyone received an "application received" email or anything? I got one confirming my payment a couple of weeks ago. In it it stated that updates would be though the AADSAS portal (any ideas when this opens?) and on their website they say they discourage students asking about their application status. According to last years thread they had received ones... Just curious!
 
I received an email back in early June (6/13, even before it was technically mailed) saying that my application was complete and that I was now being reviewed. This came a couple days after I paid (6/10)
 
Hmm.. Weird. Ya I payed the supp 6/6 and was verified 6/18. I know I shouldn't call and there's no updates on the AADSAS "School Decisions" tab. I guess I'll just wait? Any thoughts guys?
 
Well as long as you received an email saying that they accepted your payment then I think you're good. Maybe makes sure through AADSAS that everything was sent and mailed to the school. But, I don't see a big problem with calling the school and saying that you didn't receive the completed application email. Better to call then assume and find out in a month that they hadn't received something.

When was your GPA verified if you don't mind me asking?

Yes my gpa was verified and my application was sent 6/20 (first batch). But the email confirmation of my completed app came well before it was mailed out. It was probably sent to me about the same time my gpa was verified though
 
Still no word..... Tempted to turn into a nag and call them to see what's going on lol. :thinking:
 
Hey do you guys know if we're suppose to send a 2X2 photo to vcu admissions? All I've done is pay the $80 fee online but I heard about a photo being needed and I didn't see it on the supplemental page info aadsas provides . Any inputs?

I would guess they'd request it when/if they request a supplemental. It's prob just within the supplemental itself so it's not listed separately. All I've done is pay the fee.
 
I ended up calling last week and the lady asked if I checked AADSAS (which there is nothing under the school decisions tab). She was really nice and looked up my name and said my file was actually scheduled to be looked at that day. I received a confirmation email later that day stating my app was complete and under review.

I don't understand the whole school decisions tab... AADSAS says it's up to the school to update and VCU made it sound like it was up to AADSAS

I looked at one of the past threads and apparently AADSAS can take a while to update the portal for all of the schools. One guy said that he had no decisions and then one random day he had like eleven schools pop up saying that he was under review. So I'm guessing that schools might have already updated AADSAS but AADSAS might release info in waves, kind of like how our apps are sent out in batches.
 
I submitted the payment on 7/7 and got a confirmation for that. Waiting for them to send me an email saying my app is complete
 
I called the lady today and she told me to check the aadsas portal (which there is nothing on of course). I told her as much and she said "well were reviewing lots of applications". Needless to say I didn't find out whether it's complete lol.

Interesting how schools seem to give off the impression that they all use the ADEA AADSAS portal, yet mine doesn't have anything. Any idea when it gets updated?
 
I'm sure you'll get an email soon!

And according to last year some of the schools started appearing on AADSAS around 8/30! Yikers

it appears that some email replies from VCU request "passport photo" along with DAT scores and LoRs, but other replies did not mention the photo at all. Mine did, so I mailed the photo to them at the address they indicated on their email response.
 
I tried giving VCU a call but no one answered. I'll try again a little later. At this moment I haven't sent a picture and none of my emails from them (both the email requesting my fee, and my app complete email) ask for a picture. I'll let you all know if I hear anything.
 
Did anyone have their status updated to "Application received and have the Official DAT scores, 3 letters of evaluation and ready for Admissions Committee Review." ? I took my DAT 3 days ago, how is it possible they already have my DAT scores lol?

Also has anyone sent their 2x2 photo? I am not sure when I am supposed to send it. I already submitted my fee.

I called the office of admissions because I noticed that some people were asked to send in a photo while others were not. I was informed that the 2x2 photo was a part of the supplemental application LAST year, and some people received the email from last year while others received the updated email. She said that we need to send in a 2x2 photo IF WE ARE INVITED FOR AN INTERVIEW, but not before then. Hope this clears things up!

Alright so basically we continue to play the waiting game
 
Has anyone else gone to their website to pay, and gotten a message that says, "the invoice is too big"?

Frankly, I'm a little intimidated by big invoices.
 
Am I really the only person having this problem with the website? Did everybody else mail their checks, or were you able to get the online payment system to work?

Maybe they just haven't received my application yet. It was just mailed out officially on Friday. I'll try to contact somebody in the morning, but this is a little weird.

I paid the supplemental fee online and received a receipt email on July 3...from what i remember..it took couple days to get confirmation that supplemental fee was received. On July 8th..i got an email that the application is complete and under review.
If the online payment is problematic..i would call them or snail mail the check.
 
Got an email yesterday telling me that my application was complete and they'll notify me if they select me for an interview.
 
Good to know that no one else has heard from VCU yet. Good luck to all of you 😉

I just paid my supplemental fee online, but got a message that the prompt terminated accidently or something like that. It showed immediately in my bank account that it was charged. I'm trying to get in contact to make sure they did in fact get it
 
Oh, for the record, my problem was that I was copy/pasting my whole AADSAS number into the field, when it only wanted the last 7 digits. Did anyone else notice that the first 4 are "2015"? Freaky!
 
got the same email today! Application is now considered complete and will be reviewed in a timely fashion!
 
Congrats on the interview! Did they email you? Also did you status change on the aadsas portal?

Application complete email today and currently under review. It was under review for like 4 weeks! Wtf
 
For those with interviews, did you only get an AADSAS update? Or have you received emails? I'm dying for some state school love from this school!!!
 
I called the admissions last week and they said they hadn't sent out the first batch of interview invitations... that's so odd...
