Heres how it works. You make the best possible guess as to your score in each section, including the writing sample. When the scores come out, someone bumps this thread and the winner gets the unyielding adoration of all the dorks on SDN. I'll start:

PS: 12
VR: 10
BS: 12

WS: Q

Thanks for updating.

Update lines on the guesstimates so far...

OVER: Jtank cozmosis baylorguy mediculous turkeyman

UNDER: Shredder ulimateend missmonkey

EVEN MONEY: Chaeymaey Sandiegosod OwnageMobile dilated codliveroil

These lines are derived, of course, from my own proprietary formula which is based on a deep, fundamental understanding of discreet mathematics tinged with an assload of time. Wager at your own risk.

On AAMC practice tests...I was averaging about:
PS: 10-11 VR: 10-11 BS: 11-12 (highest score 34)

Considering the difficult of the PS on this administration of the MCAT...I'm going to guess....

PS: 10 VR: 10-11 BS: 11-12 ... so anywhere in the range of 31-33, and I'll be happy.

But I wouldn't be surprised if I got a 9 on PS...I had to guess on about seven or eight questions...which mean's i'm screwed.

What do I think I'll get? I dunno. What do I feel like I'll get?:
BS15, VR15, PS..................................2ish.

I've never been to vegas...or vagus...but i've never understood the over/under. i've tried to and i always seem to remember at times (usually during bowl games), but i always forget. Please remind me. thanks

When you guys say "I guessed on 7 to 8 questions" does that mean you were sure on the rest? or does that mean those were just pick one randomly out of the 4 guesses?

because if it is the first one....then i am screwed. I don't think i randomly guessed on any questions except for 2 on the VR. On those 2 question...i had NO clue.

my score could be

PS:12 VR:11 BS:11

that was also my average on the Kaplan tests. hence a good bet.

Okay ... no range. I had form AN.

PS. 13. I didn't guess on anything, about 5 questions i wasn't sure 100%. guessing 13 because of dumb mistakes.
VR. 10. I'm not that good in this section, but I did get a 9 last time on the real mcats, and thats with doing 2 passages in the last 5 minutes. this time i had time to do all at my own pace.
BS. 14. 1 stand alone question I totally guessed on, 3 or 4 not sure 100%, rest were easy.
writing section - R.

As long as i get >35 I'll be happy.

actually my assesment is very close to hers. However, I am not so bold. 🙂

OK, I'll give this a shot.

PS-10
VR-12
BS-10
WS-Q

And I would be thrilled with that 32!

Alright, alright. I didnt want to jinx myself, but considering I had a nightmare last night about getting a 24 (8P: 6V: 10B) (in my dream this added to 26, dont ask me how), Ill make a guess:

P: 9 (I would love that based on how crappy I did)
V: 10 (that would be amazing)
B: 11

Total:30

I would be THRILLED if I got this score!!! 😀

i am retaking the mcat and i did this last year, and completely screwed myself over with this "prediction" non-sense.

BUT, i guess i'll do it again :: with some rewards [this'll be a record of the commitment i made]

35 or above :: Miracle from God; Go to Ruth's Chris; Buy coworkers lunch

32 - 34 :: Miracle from God; Eat something good (Taco Bell)

30 - 31 :: This is what I expect; Eat lunch

29 or below :: Quarter-life crisis.

I saw this thread and I figured I should join in the guessing game. I won't guess too high because my average wasn't high (like everyone else in this thread). So here it goes, if it is right then some divine intervention happened 🙂

BS: 10
PS: 9
V: 8
W: O???

Yeah, I am agreeing that you guys are pretty confident with yourselves. Now, I am not sure how the curve works, but I know that there is no way in hades that I am going to be hitting any 14's. I am guessing:

PS 12
V10
B9

Writing sample...uh R (I don't even know how it is scored)

Dang organic...dang it all to hades. I guess I should have waited until I took the 2nd half !! 😛

Like my non-curse cursing?

I think its really funny how everyone on this thread seems to think they represent the 15%-20% of the nation that scores above a 30. I'd recommend you get your heads out of the clouds or post in the MCAT dream thread because if you keep these extreme results in your heads you're only going to disappoint yourselves. If I were in Vegas, I'd sell the majority of you all short - and kudos to you who actually predict a score below a 30, blessed are the humble. Though, while in Rome, I'll predict a 46 - it seems to be in line with most of this pretentious malarkey.

hey mr know it all newbie, you fail to consider that this website isnt exactly an accurate representation of the people who take the test, only a select few who take the initiative to come here and post. take a more detailed look around and youll find a number of users who have scored above 40, very disproportionate to the percentage of all test takers who do this. same for 30. what a pessimist, good luck to you dude, you must think youre so wise and mature. im glad there are ppl like you out there who expect so little of yourselves to provide some balance. go ahead and sell me short and ill prepare to rake it in.

A pessimist - hardly - look at my screen name - I'm a cubs fan. All I am saying is that it would be terrible to expect such an outstanding score, perhaps a 40, only to be let down by a modestly good score. Certainly don't sell yourself short, but at the same time, don't inflate yourself either.

to cubs -

I think Shredder makes some valid points. Most of the pre-med SDN community is comprised of, well... talented and driven people, and not surprisingly, there is a large majority of people here who have done exceptionally well (in the 29 and above range, with mid-thirties) on the MCAT. Quite honestly I find most of the predictions in this thread quite plausible. Just take a gander at previous threads here where people have posted their actual scores (April / August '04, etc.)

Of course, we must heavily rely on the integrity of these posts, but I feel like the cloud of anonymity would make any false reports pretty useless and irrational.

There is no need to talk of optimism or pessimism... just some sensible reasoning may lead us to think that most of the SDN community will tend to be in that higher range in the MCAT bell curve... after all, if you're here, you probably also studied hard for this test 🙂 (or at least intend to, as evident by all the new kiddies posting questions about how we felt, how to prepare, what classes to take, etc.)

okay--cavalier expressed essentially what i meant, in a less huffy and puffy way. still, you cant always set your sights low just to be on the safe side to avoid disappointment.

if ur in a pre-med forum, u should assume that most people here are above average, why else would we spend our time posting on a forum unless we were really dedicated to our future... and its not considered "extreme results" if thats what we were scoring on the practice tests (which most of us were).

okay, i surrender - game on

I think it is reasonable to believe you could get above a 35 if that is what you have been doing on your diags, etc.

A lot of people are basing their scores not only how they felt about the test but the averages of their practices. I don't know if you have taken the test, but I hate to break it to you........the practice tests are indicators of your actual performance on the test. THis has been proven on this board several times and was proven to me in August last year.

So if these people were getting 35-39 like Shredder and others. Then it is possible to believe they could get in that range up to a 40 or 42.

I like RobbingReality's reasoning. But you forget grasshopper, The House always hits on soft 16....you'll lose making that bet in the long run. Come to think of it, no matter what you bet, The House always wins in the long run!!!

My thoughts precisely.

Scores predicted and posted on this thread aren't just pulled randomly out of the air.

I HATE to be doing this because I'm superstitous and don't wanna jinx myself. But i'm also self damaging... based on all this jive I''ve heard about the accuray of practice tests, minus my practice anxiety i'm going to guesstimate....... OH MAN I DON"T KNOW?!?!?!?!?

I hope I did as well as some of you. But I guess we'll see.

Hah, If what the kaplan instructors say is correct then ill get a 32P V:11 B:11 P:10
But, after the actual test my best guess is: 27P
V: 8
P: 9
B: 10

Hopefully im wrong and I dont win this contest.

It seems everyone here is predicting their score based on their AMCAS practice tests. Does that mean u guys had consistent scores? I was all over the board! on 6r i got P:13 v:10 b:11 but i had to guess blindly on like 5 questions for PS. on test 7 i didnt guess any on PS and ended with a 10. and then my bs score went from anywhere between 10-14. with this ginormous range in mind, i have 3 estimates of my score, considering test form BG annihilated me in PS:

treat all my friends to house of prime rib score because i am the luckiest bastard alive:
P: 11
v:12
b:13

non-inflated/deflated score:
P: 10
v: 10
b: 12

i will never eat a prime rib again worst case scenario score:
P: 9
V: 9
b: 11

oh god, i feel like am going to barf. why did i ever make these stupid predictions. please please i love prime rib.

bump, I randomly thought of this thread just now and decided to look for it 🙂

its been lingering in my mind but no need for it until 2 more weeks pass

I wonder if people would make the same predictions if this thread had been started today rather than right after the test. I looked back at mine, and I think it would be the same, except I'd probably switch the predictions for PS and BS.

It is a little premature to revive this thread. Lets wait until 4-5 days before the release date. I do think everyone should chip in and do something for the winner (whoever gets all three sections and the writing sample right). I'm willing to offer my signature space for a week as free advertising to promote the views of whoever ends up winning this farce. Any other suggestions?

Not too late to post a prediction, is it? Scores haven't come out yet. I guess (hope):

PS: 12
VR: 11
BS: 12
WS: Q

I really want a 35.

damn....I used to be confident! 🙄

Ok, I'll go best case so I look 1337 if I'm right.

PS: 12
VR: 14
BS: 13
WS: S

This is not unreasonable at all, and would match my best AAMC practice test score.

Go me!

making a prediction as well.

I felt pretty confident when I finished now it has diminished some.

My prediction is

PS 12
VR 12
BS 11
WR O

when before I would have said
PS 13
VR 13
BS 11

WR R

I'll go optimistic with one point higher than my practice tests:
12 PS
12 V
13 B

This is on the high end, I would be absolutely enthralled with this score. The PS is what worries me most, as I got an 11 last year, but this year was much harder.

No doubt you would look 1337! Go Tarzan!

form BG

my guess:
PS: 9
VR: 11
BS: 10
WR: O

how I felt the day of:
PS: 6
VR: 14
BS: 10
WR: J

my diags ranged from 19 on the first to 34 on one of the last so I really have no idea! 😕

Would you believe I had the weirdest dream about getting exactly that breakdown, except that writing was an N in the dream. It was weird as hell. But I don't think that's my breakdown. I don't know what it will be, but I woke up to a dream about having that breakdown of scores.
