I am writing a paper discussing the fear invoked by Michael Myers from the film Halloween. My underlying theme is that the reason the audience finds Myers so scary is due to the uncanniness of his form. His white, featureless mask, the lack of human characteristics and traits all add to this fear. However I am stuck in my research. I am looking for any research dealing with these assumptions. I have read Freud's article on the uncanny but I need some supplemental research. Can anyone steer me in the right direction in regards to studies done on the fear of things such as the lack of human qualities, or the fear of featureessness in humans/monsters? Basically anything dealing with the amorphous nature of physical appearences. Thanks.
