relax. that is a better score than you got previously, right? it's balanced, and it is competitive for a large number of DO schools. you already have an interview so that means that school already thinks you're ready handle med school. things will work out. the mcat sucks!

I completely agree...Don't worry bud, there is a light at the end of the tunnel and you will get accepted somewhere. You improved and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm sure all of the schools you applied to will like to see that.

Agreed, you have to look at all of the underlying things that are said by your actions. You decided that you wanted to subject yourself to the MCAT again in order improve your score and make yourself a stronger applicant. This shows the schools that you're going to go out and reach for what you want, despite how difficult the journey is. All they're going to see is dedication, determination, and an improvement in your strength as an applicant. However slight it may have been, improvement is improvement.

I got my score back today, and it's not good.

24 P (8,8,8)

I feel horrible, I studied so hard, felt wayyyy better going in and coming had 27-29 on the practice and this happens.

i'm starting to lose faith, the only thing keeping me going is that I have an interview but I honestly feel like there is no way they can accept me with such a low mcat score especially since my gpa is not great

DUDE YOU HAVE AN INTERVIEW AT DCOM! that is just so awsome. and you went up 2 points. that is awsome in itself. you should be fine, you did well a 24 is competetive. just relax and let the interviews roll in man. I think youll do just great. the test really sux but you pulled out ok, youll do just fine.

Give this man a pudding pop. This (8, 8, 8) is the best 24 that can be gotten. I would also add that once you do get in, nobody will give a s**t about your mcat score ever again. Smoke'm in the interview and you'll be fine.

Are the GPAs on the first post of this underdog thread sGPA or cGPA? I am confused about this whole GPAs stuff. Like in my case, I have a 3.18 cGPA and 3.4 sGPA. Wouldn't it be better if it was the reverse? Which GPA that adcoms or med schools give more consideration to? I feel like my application would have looked better if I had a 3.4 cGPA and a 3.18 sGPA. Correct me if I am wrong...

I have 4 interviews thus far (A.T Still Soma, Touro- Nevada, OU, and WV). My friend that is also applying has an interview at Lincoln Memorial in Tennessee with a 3.7ish mcat (lower sgpa), and 20 mcat. It CAN happen for you, and it will I promise! It is still super early, and you have to keep telling yourself that.

Things will get better, and it only takes one! Goodluck on your interview! We all know you'll do great 🙂

I did not do a post-bac or a masters. I have one class taken since graduation, if that counts for anything. I do have a few thousand patient contact hours, as I chose to work rather than do an SMP.

Question: Do most schools have a certain day that they send invite offers out each week....or do they send them out at various times on a rolling basis? For example, will a school only send out invites on a Thursday each week?

Just trying to gain a little more insight into the infamous "process"....

It might be a good idea to leave up the interview invites so people can see who was interested in you, but maybe put an asterisk next to the so we know you chose not to attend and weren't straight denied.

Granted, I'm not sedaniel but I have a strong feeling that he prefers LECOM-B over all those other schools at the least, and NSU-COM is 2nd on the list right now. Either that or he can't justify the expense/stress of more interviews.

Which leads me to my next point; I'm questioning the value of attending my LMU-DCOM interview, trying to justify either the $600 flight or the 8 hour drive. Decisions... decisions.... do I like LECOM-E better???

i talked to my friend, who went to medical school in Poland. she says i should apply there, if i don't (which i prob won't) get into any medical schools here. i was worried about the job and residency outlook but she just graduated and is already getting a lot of interviews for work here.

is this a good idea vs Caribbean schools?

some of the caribbean schools do rotations here in the states so that might be some advantage but with the direction health care is going, it might be tough to get a residency spot in the coming years

but than got an e-mail to fill out the secondary, they said they reviewed me before they saw my summer grades and than decided to give me secondary

and I got a message from lecom that i would receive a decision after 30 days,

problem is i never interviewed and haven't heard from them since I submitted the secondary in june so i'm pretty sure this is a rejection 🙁

so, overall not a great day but thats ok, i'm gonna try not to let it get to me.

You have good news from KCUMB as they are sending you secondary.
LECOM, you are not sure what is in the mail. When you login LECOM website, you can see application status and it will tell you if you did not meet any of the requirements to get an interview.
