hmmm, it says i'm deficient in orgo, but i'm planning on taking orgo 2 2nd semester?

on hold till May?????

that hardly seems to make sense, schools only require that you complete pre-reqs by matriculation. I have all the other pre-reqs done plus biochem so I don't understand that logic, I guess i'll call them up on monday and see wahts going on.

I know what i said does not make much sense, I was trying to give a possible reason. Hope that is not the case.
Talking to them will sure give you insight as what is going on.
It is difficult to get some one on phone so may be you want to write an email and the if they do not respond, give them a call or do both.

I'd rather not post my stats but I am truly an underdog, trust me!

I'd like to give thanks to the op for starting this thread, as the application process is giving me ulcers and its nice to see encouraging words on sdn instead of the usual ........

ahhhh true. i guess cuz im so use to the cold weather here in jersey that i figure erie cant be that bad. i too am tryin to decide which schools to withdraw from
 
Imo everyone should withdraw from, LMU-DCOM, it will improve my chances. 😀

Oh well I'm used to the cold weather, it's the whole "middle-of-nowhere" thing that I don't like about Erie lol, so I'd rather stay in nice warm Florida. Plus Sarasota was enough of a city where I could see myself spending four years there for sure 😀

Honestly though, having gone to undergrad in Westwood which is in the middle of everything your heart would ever desire, I sometimes wonder if I should go to a medschool that is distraction free?! I don't trust myself enough sometimes to avoid the distractions around the schools.
 
i was thinkin the same thing. it could def be a distraction especially down in florida where the schools are just a car ride away to the beach and so many other places to go. but i figured it will probably help with the studying knowing that if u study hard, u have so many places to party hard 😀

and man, im already missing the warm weather down in FL. its already getting real cold up here

ouch, first rejection of the season, and apparently they come in trios

got rejected from 3 schools today; 1 of them a top choice, All DO

this hurts...

I am a reapplicant....and was losing some hope this cycle already...even though it is still a little early to give up😳

BUT......I just got an email invite for an interview at Rocky Vista!!!!!

I know HockeyDr has been super busy and my previous post with my "underdog" stats may have been missed...feel free to add me to the front page😀

sGPA: 3.42
cGPA: 3.65
2009 MCAT: 6PS, 8VR, 7BS (21M)
2010 MCAT: 5PS, 9VR, 10BS (24M).......I never thought I would get a 2nd glance with the 5 in there.....clearly PS is a weak spot.

Congrats again to others getting interviews...this thread is AMAZING! I was so discouraged last year! I will keep you all posted!

AND...now I can't seem to stop listening to Cupid Shuffle! Woot Woot!

This thread needs more action, I am an underdog w/ 3 interviews. Stats similar (MCAT just barely higher than recent poster who is interviewing at RVU).

That sounds like an awefully bad idea.....😱

My husband and I live in MN right now but my father-in-law has been with the LA County PD for 30 yrs.....and that jives with many of his stories! Thanks for enlightening us!

I had to laugh at how many people keep telling you to "have patience" because that was the last thing I ever wanted to hear from people! Grrr....just keep telling us GREAT stories from the ER in LA🙂 That should keep you busy while you wait for the interviews to start rolling in😉

Thanks also for the congrats everyone...I really am amazed at how supportive peeps are on this thread! This is the ONLY reason I joined SDN😍

I did undergrad in Tampa and I fully expected to spend a lot of time at the beach. I probably went 10 times my freshman year and 8 times total the next 3 years. Undergrad kept me busy enough that the beach was not a factor.

Also, driving to the beach was always such a hassle in my mind. You've got to fight absurd traffic (most of the beach towns are one-road-in, one road-out), find a place to park, pay to park, buy food/drink somewhere, get back to your car that's about 125 degrees inside, then drive back all sandy, sweaty and salty.

But that's just me.
 
how long after you submitted your secondaries did you hear a yes or no about interviews? i'm a little unclear on this step of the process.

I'm a 3.45 sGpa, 3.59 cumulative. 25M (9P/10V/6B) awaiting my scores from second MCAT test. Not sure if I count as an underdog or not, but since I'm an art and business major I sure feel like one. lol.
 
ok maybe someone can update my new mcat scores. 25 O 9ps/7vr/9bs. my last administration i had a 8 in verbal but oh friggin well. im not really satisfied i wanted at least a 26 but i guess well give it a shot this year and if i don't get in then ill retake.

I had my file complete at the schools I applied to on 08/31.

My updated AACOMAS was released 09/07 (however, I emailed each school and informed them to hold my file until my new scores arrived from AACOMAS).

I received a letter from AZCOM placing me on "hold" 09/02 and an interview invite from RVU 09/13.

Still waiting to hear from 9 schools (I applied all DO).🙂

Hope that helps! From what I have read on here, some schools (maybe most) do "cherry-pick" a little and so reviews may not always go in order of when files are completed.😡 BUT....they will get to it. Waiting is the worst part in my view...Good luck though! Your stats are quite similar to mine. I have a bio and psych degree.....not quite business/art, but I have heard that something "different" adds to your well-roundedness😀

wow never thought about it that way. but maybe itll be different in the sarasota area since its not as well known as the other areas of florida? i had images of being able to simply drive down to a not so crowded beach, relax, and have a beer after an exam

Well, my application has officially been re-released with my updated GPA, although I won't be able to check it until Thursday. Its now officially the 3.0 sGPA that is listed on the front page and in the spreadsheet. Hopefully this update along with the letter I will be writing about the new job I will be starting will get me some more interest.

Come on Western, CCOM, KCOM, PCOM show me some love :xf: haha
 
Hey guys, got my MCAT score today 25Q =/. So my updated GPA should be a 3.2 just waiting for AACOMAS to update that and my MCAT was sent today. Please update the front page. Hopefully I can get a couple interviews now.

No action for 24? wth? I guess I'll say something, Western, and all the other schools finally got the mcat score and application is now complete so the wait begins. :whistle::bang:

thats weird! since that would mean the email was sent from KCOM at 08:30PM!

All of KCOM's interview e-mails have come at awkward times. People have gotten them at 11-12 PST, which would be between 1 and 2am local time. I'm not sure if there is any explanation for their erratic times lol
 
I also just recieved an interview invite and mine is labeled like midnight

EDIT: Random though... I wonder if the invite is coincidental or if the fact that my summer grades and updated AACOMAS was released yesterday gave me the opportunity. So much for me going to sleep at a normal hour. I'm stoked I got the interview invite. Don't they know that now I just want to go out and celebrate! Too bad its late already lol

Hey guys quick question, how long does a re-release take? I sent my summer transcripts and they recieved them on Sept 7th and my MCAT scores were recieved on the 15th. Im just wondering cause the transcripts bring my gpa up alot and I need the schools to see I have a MCAT on file before I even get considered for interviews.

You may contact to the schools directly. It is time consuming but fast.
