I hope you are right. That would give you a little over a week to make arrangements if you haven't recevied an invite yet. Does that mean you will definitely get a rejection letter if you don't hear from them this week?

I just received my invite!!! See you guys next weekend!

who hoo! got the invite!

I just got my e-mail. Yeah! I haven't checked the price of a plane ticket from Orlando (can't until they tell me my date). It has to be worth it though 😛 .

Are all the invitations out for the next round? Any insight?

Would you all that got invites mind sharing your stats?

Thanks in advance, and good luck next weekend!

ive heard that they only offer 3 rounds of interviews...but dont quote me on that....
prereq gpa: 3.4
overall gpa: 3.2
pcat: 75
B.S. Biochemistry from Texas Tech
50 hours of pharmacy volunteer work

I spoke to the office of admissions last week, and they stated that they would be sending out invites 4/12-4/14, so I'm wondering if they will be sending out invites for the third round over the next two days as well. Here's to hoping!

Next weekend (Friday Apr 21, Sat Apr 22, and Monday Apr 24) will be the last and final rounds of interviews for the Fall 2006 incoming class. All interview invites should be sent out by the end of this week. This last round will be the largest of the three. 👍

I am a little confused!!! We have to call Mo O'Meara on this date (Monday, April 17 and Tuesday, April 18) to set up an interview for either: Friday, April 21 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM; Saturday, April 22 from 10:00 AM-1:00 PM and from 1:00 PM -4:00 PM; and Monday, April 24 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM.?????

What is the confusion?

Hi all who will be attending next week. For those of you who are staying at hotels, have you decided where to stay? Do any Austin people have any suggestions? I am coming by myself and want to at least be safe and somewhat close to fun things to do. BTW, for those of you in Austin, what and where are the fun things to do? I'd love a good (and cheap) steak one day and some TexMex the other. I figure Texas should have both. Any suggestions?

I tried calling Ms. O'Meara to see if I could narrow down a day so I could make flight reservations, but she was off. I have never made a plane reservation three days before the date (except for funerals and you get a special rate for that). Oh well. Sometimes it takes money to make money (four years from now).
Oh, for those of you who are coming from far away, they also told me to remember the time difference 😛 . Is Austin Central Time or Mountain time? 😕
-Rach, Eastern Standard Time

When I went to Austin from Georgia, I stayed at the La Quinta at the Capitol. It was very safe and close to all the downtown attractions, and the Capitol is only a block away. There's also a bus stop there (at the Capitol). Austin is on Central Time. 🙂

Thanks for the info Starsweet. i think I saw that hotel listed on priceline.

Everyone must have started calling at 10:01 because I have been trying to get through for 30 minutes. The busy signal is slowly driving me insane 😱

Will anyone else be interviewing Saturday late morning/early afternoon? Also, does anyone know how much parking is and how you pay? I don't want to get caught off guard. Thanks. Now I get to go to sleep so I can pull an all nighter studying for physics 2. 😴 How I hate physics 2. :luck:

Parking is a bitch there, I would take a taxi. I did. 🙂

LoL same...Finally got through though! Must have wasted alot of minutes I don't have  Mine is at 10 on saturday...Anyone else around the same time?

i started calling at 9:48...i dont think they were real happy with that, but i wasnt about to give up the interview time i wanted (since i have already bought my plane ticket!)

I callled around 12, and they didn't give me a choice about the Day or Time. The lady asked if I went to UT and when I said yes, she told me that I needed to interview at 3 on Monday. Not sure if it was because I live here or if all the other times were gone.

I was going to buy a plane ticket on Friday but I chickened out because, with my luck, I would have gotten a different day! Where are you coming from and how much did it cost you? I was so lucky to get a ticket, car, and hotel (Fairfield Inn) for 600. I can't believe that was the cheapest I could find but I grabbed it while I could. Thank goodness for sites like Travelocity! Good luck all and hope to meet some of you there :luck:

Saturday 12 pm

im flying in from lubbock and it cost me just under $200. im staying with a friend too. my interview is friday at 1 because i have a prior engagement that i cannot miss on saturday. see yall there

There are a few free parking spaces scattered within campus during the weekends and afternoons. Always remember to read the signs carefully. But the easiest route is to park in the garage, it will cost you $8 dollars (i think). The closest parking garage will be either "San Antonio Garage" or "27th Street Garage" The pharmacy school is about a 5 min walk from these garages. Check out www.utexas.edu to find maps.

Hope this helps and good luck! 👍

Thanks so much utpharmdude. It helps to have someone on the inside 🙂

utpharmdude,
i was just wondering if you anything about what they are doing at ut about reapplicants. i had posted a thread earlier about reapplying to ut and there were a few others in my position who had not heard anything either. im assuming they will take into account our interviews from last year based on the reapplicant posts from last year but i would love to hear some inside info as im very very anxious. thanks for your help!

I know a few people who are reapplying and had their interview last year. They went to speak with Dr. Wilcox and was advised that they do not to reinterview and they will be reconsidered in May.

Good luck! 👍

Do you have any idea how many seats are typically available once the three rounds of acceptances are over?

April interviews start tomorrow! Good Luck to everyone who is interviewing this weekend. What day is everyone's interivew on? I don't interview until Monday.

Mine's on saturday morning. My suit has been begging me all week to wear it.

Good luck to everyone this weekend and monday!!! 👍

good luck guys!!!

Good luck to everyone interviewing. Mine is at noon Saturday. I'll be the one in a black suit if you want to say "hi." 😀 :luck: :luck: :luck: :luck:

YAHOOO!! Exciting!! 😀 Good Luck everyone!!!

Hi everyone who interviewed so far:
How did it go and what did you all think? I had mine today at noon and loved the people (students and faculty) so far. Things went very smoothly and the people seemed happy to have us there. I interviewed with Dr. Wilcox and a 3rd year student. Both made me feel very at ease. I can't wait until May!!!! Hope your interviews went well. -R.

I had my interview on April 21st. The school is huge and the traffic is horrible, but overall I like the school. Dr. Richards was my interviewer. She was very nice, which was a suprise to current pharmacy students.

The huge school part I can handle but the traffic is the one thing that could keep me from loving Austin. I35 is horrible! It makes Miami driving seem tame. 😱 I am just worried that being a nonresident will seriously limit my chances. They only took 3 last year (according to their stats on the web site).

I'm scared too, as a nonresident. RachGator, were there any out of state students at your interview? I think there was one other person at mine in March.

Also, does anyone know if UT prefers students that are certified pharmacy technicians? After the interview I got a slip saying that all accepted students must be certified before matriculation. 😕

Hey Rach, I think i met you today 😉 Hope all goes well! 🙂
