I was wondering what people brought with them to their interviews.

A notepad, pen, water bottle (just in case schools don't provide one)??

Also, did you guys bring a backpack or messenger bag to put these things in?

Thanks in advance for sharing your infos! 😀

I know there was a really good thead on this a while back. It had tons of ideas on what to bring. You could try searching for it.

As for me, I always bring a purse to carry all the papers/books the schools give us. I bring a copy of my AMCAS, my PS, and the secondary I filled out for the school. This way I can remind myself what I stressed on my application.

Usually I see guys carrying those professional looking folders (i forgot what they call it).

If you're a girl you should carry an extra pair of stockings.... the stupid thinks always snag 🙂 I always bring crackers or a snack. Sometimes you're sitting listening to info sessions for hours. And you don't want your tummy growling in the middle of the Dean's lecture 🙂

a waterbottle???
why!

they give u a lil something..food cookies water juice!..and if they dont i would rather take a sip from a fountain than tout along my gatoraid pack like im intending to power walk their tour :😛:

... wait dont listen to me i am a dehydrated person and i dont care!

Copies of your AMCAS statement, coupla copies of your resume.

I carried a copy of my transcripts just in case.

Copies of PS, AMCAS, transcipts, and resume to your interview? Your school has all of the above already. Bring some snacks and water instead!!!!

i know that NYMC specifically asks you to bring 2 copies of your AMCAS PS... not sure why. unfortunately my laptop got stolen out of my apartment a few weeks ago, so i have to go back and try to locate hard copies of all of my secondaries... EEK. not looking forward to it.

definitely bring the water. I've had a lot of my interviews at off-campus sites, which require a bit of traveling. after hustling to get to the interview on time, the last thing i want to worry about five minutes before my interview is finding a water fountain because my throat is dry.

You don't have to bring a nalgene bottle of water, nalgenes are too frickin' heavy. just buy a plastic poland spring bottle of water.

just access your AMCAS application online and print our your personal statement from that app. NYMC does not mind that.

More for your benefit so that you can remember what you wrote down on those things.

From my last interview, I would say definitely bring a snack like a powerbar or something because there was no time for lunch at my interview and my stomach growled a lot 🙁

NYMC told me to bring a copy of my PS as well. But when I got there, my interviewer already had a copy. So I didn't even need it. But yeah, print it off AMCAS just in case.

I have a suggestion! Well, I got it from a friend, so i can't take total credit. Or any credit, actually.

Aanyways...I've been keeping an index card in my front suit pants pocket. On it I list questions I want to make sure I ask (either on tour, or during the interview) and list personal characteristics/experiences I want to make sure I convey to the adcom (differs depending on school - slightly).

As most interview days are pretty long, I discretely take the index card out (in an elevator, while walking on tour) and just remind/refocus myself.

Just a suggestion...but it's helped me a lot!

Happppy Friddaaaayyyy!!!

Whooohoooo!

Hey,

I brought a farting pillow and put it under my interviewer's chair. He didn't think that was so funny. I probably wouldn't do that next time.
