Thomas Jefferson

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I felt the interview process was pretty good, the faculty and students made whole process less stressful then I had originally thought. The interview process differs for each group of interviewees, my group had the informal group interview with the students first, then by two faculty members, and finally a tour of the campus. Another group had the tour first and then the interviews.

The types of question they had asked were basic, at least for me. The first interview was an open file and the second one was a closed file. Usually they will ask something alone the lines of "So tell me a little about yourself?", "Why pharmacy?", "What achievement(s) are you proud of?", "Your strengths and weaknesses?", etc. I can't really remember if any of the questions had stumped me, but the question's were straight forward, and its safe to say the closed file interview is much smoother than the open file interview if you have to explain any tough grades.

We did not have any writing portions and I personally have no idea how long it would take to get from TJU to Temple, but its safe to say TJU is smack dab in the middle of the city, and from what I saw it was the usual city traffic coupled with notoriously horrible east coast drivers (alot of Jersey drivers in Philly I guess lol), so give yourself an ample amount of time, and don't forget the parking woes of any city.

Thanks so much, Filler- you're very kind. Congrats on your and everyone else's acceptance!!! 🙂

By the way, I must have missed the interview feedback for this school when I first checked, but now I know that it's under Jefferson- I was looking under the T's- my mistake. Still, I really appreciate you sharing your experience here.

Lol, thanks for the advice. I won't be driving, but am considering either taking the taxi or the subway (not sure which is better).

I had another curious question about how many ppl are being admitted per interview cycle? Since it's still kind of early in the admission cycle, would anyone know if they are going to be admitting or putting on hold or rejecting a fair portion of the people who will be interviewed around this time?

Also, if anyone has any more tips, please don't hold back. I'd be most grateful. Thank you! 🙂

Best advice I can give is...

1) Study general information about the program and prepare for general questions that could be asked at the interview.
2) Eat breakfast the day of the interview
3) Relax
4) Relax
5) Relax
6) Prepare some questions you would like to ask your interviewer about the program.
7) Dress warm, especially for the campus tour if your interview is in the middle of December.

Number 6 is important because towards the end of the interview the faculty member will allot some time where you could ask questions. However, it doesn't hurt to toss in a question in the middle of the interview IN CASE you feel questions are being fired at you at a quick pace, it'll give you some room to breath.

Accepted 11-21, I am waiting for the offer in the mail.

Great advice... Thank you!! 🙂 The day is sneaking up on me so quickly; before I know it, I'll be in Philly next week!

Congrats to everyone w/ acceptances, and good luck to everyone with interviews/ awaiting responses. Hope to see some of you there. Happy Holidays to you and yours. 🙂

HAHA you crack me up.

When are you interviewing? I am going on the 18th.

And sorry I can't really help you out on why they gave you an interview considering your below average PCAT score.

TJ isn't accredited..which means they are really interested in accepting students and filling their spots up every year (with qualified students too)

Just be excited to interview anyways!!! 😀

revise and expand that statement, i'll give you until tomorrow before I rip into you like a tiger.

^^LOL
Many of the people that post on here just look at PharmCAS and not the school's actual website. That could be part of the problem, I guess

Post #22 and #27; pet-peeve of mine is when people use the term "non-accredited pharmacy school." click to see why.

cml2010 the clock is ticking :poke:

the 9th. well my scores are low, but my passion for pharmacy isn't, maybe that's the real "qualified student" they are looking for. good luck on your interview.

Both. They notify of your acceptance to the school via email and then send out a packet in the mail containing 3 papers. 10 days to reply.

I know in the first interview invite email the school gave you suggestions for hotels becaus you would get a discount, but my dad used expedia and got a room for much cheaper.

Yeah, I had actually just had my interview this past saturday. The info that I got from this website was very helpful, especially the interview feedback system from people that have already gone on interviews.

For those who interviewed, what was the difference between the first and second interview? Also, for Friday do we all meet at 12 or are we split up?

There wasnt much of a difference between either interview (atleast for me). It was just with a different faculty member.

was the first open transcripts and the second non-open file? Were both open transcripts/file? Both non-open?

SOOOOOO scared....

I believe the first interview is supposed to open file, however mine was not because my interview got moved up due to a no show.

Hi,
Those who interviewed already can you please share your interview in detail ??

Ok, so here's my two cents...

The first interview went really great! It was more like a conversation than just drilling me with questions. She was very responsive and informative and made me feel better about being in an interview. Then the second interview started and I knew this chick was out to make me feel like crap. She never smiled, and opened her eyes wide and was very rude to me. SO I am not sure about the second interview, but I feel I did well in the first. It upset me the way the second interviewer made me feel because she was only an associate professor, not a dean or anything.

But on another note, obviously it was in the 20's while we were there, so most of us dressed in business suits. There was this chick with a fake tan and fake blonde hair wearing only a woven shirt and a SHORT high-waisted skirt and no pantyhose or tights. I don't know if she was trying to impress the interviewers with her looks, but I am kind of hoping she does not get in because she did not look professional. Also if she was trying to win them over with her looks, it probably didn't work because a good majority of the interviewers were married women haha

SO I am hoping to get a response soon, whether it be positive or negative. Has anyone else that interviewed on the 18th heard anything yet?

Who did you interview with? I had an interview with a woman first, and she didn't really break eye contact with me but wasn't to bad. The second interview i had a guy who was really nice.

But yea i am hoping to just get a quick response and see if i have to do other interviews. I am worried that their office is going to close soon for the break and everybody who interviewed on the 18th is going to have to wait past the new year. =/

Hey guys! I just interviewed on the 18th and I just got an email a few minutes ago saying that I'm accepted! check your email! and good luck everyone!
