hi everyone,

I just received a letter from Thomas Jefferson U SOP saying that my application is being reviewed

So how long do you think it will take to get the interview offer letter??

Thanks in advance........

I interviewed on Jan.16th and got an email on Feb.3 saying I was accepted!!!:soexcited:This was the first (and only) school I interviewed at so far. I have an interview offer from Temple but, will most likely decline it. So I guess that's another opening for someone else. Still waiting on a few other schools as well. Anyone know how long it'll take till I get my packet from Jefferson in the mail?

haha, we have 5 friends in common, and nice play on words with your s/n & name. i lol'd.

haha, thanks! it is a small world.. and funny you mention that because now i am 99.9% sure of your true identity. i guess i just have to wait until fall to confirm it.

I have a couple of questions to the people who already had interview.
In the invitation, it said the interview is consist of two one-one interviews with faculty and campus-tour. How long did it take?
And didn't you guys have any problem parking at the school?

i think my interview took the entire 2 hours. the one-on-one interviews were about 20 minutes each. i really didn't do a lot of waiting in between, but more at the beginning and end. as soon as we got out of the group question and answer portion, i was the first one up for the interview with the faculty. when i came back from the first, i sat down briefly and then i got called in for the second. the campus-tour was about half an hour long. since it was a weekend, i think the facilities were locked so there was a little delay. the current students had to get the keys and we had to be escorted around by a security personnel inside. i didn't drive so i can't say much about parking at the school. good luck!

And thanks eggnacho for putting all that together, nice job 😉

haha, yeah i noticed that also. as of now its about a 10:1 girl to guy ratio. lucky for you guys! lol

Yeah. They're really efficient. I received my login for the supplemental application the same day the application was mailed (12/7).

Was the interview invite via e-mail?

Has anyone asked for an extension on the deposit? I'm considering asking for one, has anyone else been granted an extension? just curious.

Thanks! I just got my letter in the mail today and live in NewJersey. I saw the new FB group, I guess you'll be seeing another girl on there soon.

For all those interviewed, where did everyone stay at?

How much was it per night if you don't mind me asking?

i stayed at loew's hotel for $80. if you go back a couple of pages, there was a discussion regarding accommodations and transport to and from the airport. best of luck! watch out for the crazy weather.. hopefully it will be better by the time you interview. 🙂

My dad and I stayed there for really cheap too. The hotel is not even a block away from the train station and maybe five blocks from the school.

i stayed at club quarters. it's on the same street as Jefferson and about a 10 minute walk. the morning of my interview i just took a few dollar taxi ride since i was wearing heels lol. the hotel was very cheap only about $80 a night and it was surprisingly very nice, comfortable and clean. i booked it through expedia. http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll/qscr=cmhi/rdct=1/htid=451351/crti=0

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. Really close--- I had to walk because I was there during the blizzard and there were no taxis running...only took a few min...and that was in the deep snow.

Hey guys, did you get some sort of confirmation that they received your supplemental application? I submitted it a few days ago and when I tried logging back in with the PIN, it no longer shows my status and receipt of credit card payment. It just allows me to apply for other programs. A little concerned that my submission didn't get through to them. Thanks!

I never got a confirmation email for the supplemental app. so I imagine that you got everything in ok. But you can always call if you're still worried-- i bet it would take two seconds to look it up.

I got my acceptance letter, but they said I need to complete 24 credits of prerequisites over the summer. Do you think they would accept the credits if I took online courses? I don't know if pharmacy schools accept online classes.

Im not sure if they will accept the online courses or not, but i know I have to take 4 credit hours (a calculus course and a physio. lab, both will be at a community college) over the summer so that i can actually enter the pharmacy school come august.

I did call them and ask them though if the courses I intended to take would fulfill the requirements, so I'd say the best way to go is to call that number they give you (i think it's (215)-503-8890 ).

They've been really helpful the several times I've called. Sorry i can't be more help.

24 credits? Is that a typo? That's 8 3-credit classes or 6 4-credit classes. My school doesn't even allow more than 12 credits over the summer. I'm stunned they even offered an interview with that many pre-reqs missing.

It's actually 22 credits. But anyways, do you know if they will accept online classes?

No reason why they shouldn't. Several of my classes were online. That's still a ton of pre-reqs to complete over one summer. Good luck trying to squeeze all of that into a summer semester!

22 units? You should call and be 100% sure. How is that even possible to do over the summer? Can you even fit 7 courses in your schedule?

😱 someone else talked to ms astle about online courses. i think she said it was fine as long as it was from an accredited institution. i would call them to confirm though.

I don't think I got confirmation, but I got the invitation to interview in the place of that. I was freaking out because I thought I had done something wrong with the app then I got the invitation and it was a relief!

Hi, how long did it take you to get the interview invite after submitting your supplemental app?

Just a heads up, all of campus was closed yesterday due to snowmageddon part 2, so there might be a slight delay in whatever it is you were trying to do this week. same goes for temple for any of you other applicants.

and on another note, we had an epic P1 vs. P2 snow ball battle in the courtyard last night at midnight. i got clocked in the face while running and fell to the ground and couldn't get up for a good minute. other than that, good times 👍

anyone know is there is any delay/changes of the interviews due to the storm? got one on saturday!

Hey i interviewed on Jan 30. at 12:00... Jefferson just sent me an email of my acceptance

probably not, school is open but classes are again canceled today. some faculty members are unable to get to campus today, but it's sunny and roads are being plowed, everything should be back to normal friday. if anything, they'll substitute faculty members living IN the city for interviews, if necessary.

i'm more referring to things getting mailed or processed--like if you mailed your deposit and it arrived tuesday, since campus was closed wednesday, your check probably sat there until today/tomorrow.

Thanks Mersades---and congrats! I had my interview less than a week ago...but its in my nature to get anxious lol

For those of you who got acceptances, what are your stats?

I was wondering how safe the area around Jefferson is? On the interview day, I plan on rolling my luggage with a laptop inside of it as I walk to the campus. I'll be pretty conspicuous since I'll be in a suit. Do you think it'll be ok? I may stay in a hotel 5 blocks from campus and will probably walk. Around how much would a taxi fare be for 5 blocks? Thanks! 🙂

you should be safe...as long as your hotel is east/west of campus.

but i would be worried about the snow and puddles if your interview is sometime in the next few weeks. there's a risk you'll get splashed...so play it by ear and cab for 5 blocks should be ~$5 or so.
