What is the thoracic outlet syndrome?
Thoracic outlet syndrome refers to compression of the bronchial plexus, subclavian vessels (artery and vein), this compression happen in the thoracic outlet which is the space between clavicle and first rib




Causes of thoracic outlet syndrome ?
1- Weight lifting(carry heavy bag)
2- Trauma and injuries(car accident)
3- Poor postural (trunk bending for along time )
4- Congenital problem (cervical rib)
5- Spasm of the muscle around thoracic outlet(scalene muscle)
6- Chest tumor in the apex of lung (in progressive cases)

Symptoms of thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS)
Symptom depend on which structure is compressed (nerve , artery ,veins)

A- Neurological symptoms :
1- Radiated pain and numbness in the medial side of arm ,forearm ,hand , all finger especially fourth and fifth finger
2- Weakness

B- Vascular symptoms :
1- pain
2- pallor
3- cyanosis
4- coldness
5- swelling
