1) has anyone heard of clinical ?'s being asked during an interview (b/c i have heard of this happening)? i can't find anything about this on the interview feedback. if someone has any knowledge of this--- what kinds of ?'s do adcoms ask?

2) thoughts on how to field ?'s asking about whether you are planning to, or would consider, practicing in rural areas that are underserved. i do NOT have any plans to move to a rural area, and the last thing i want to do is lie or be less than candid about my future plans on this issue b/c i have heard adcoms can generally smell bs a mile away. in some states this rural issue is obviously more of an concern than others.

my thoughts on this are to respond that i have no intentions as of now to live in a rural community but that does not mean that i am not committed to volunteering to help those in the state that are underserved either in the city in which i practice or through other organizations that help to arrange health fairs in rural communities --- something along those lines, thoughts???

3) ?’s inquiring about whether you would accept medicaid, HMO’s,etc. and your thoughts in general about accepting insurance contracts.

1) My friend was asked what is her favorite dental instrument. It might have been to see if she actually did the shadowing she claimed on her app.

okay, that's pretty funny!!

I got asked about how I feel about Medicare/Medicaid. And whether or not I would accept it. I think they want you to say that you'd accept it to give back to the community.

Hmm...that is interesting b/c while i know very little about either of these (i am trying to learn more and it varies state by state😱 ) i have a serious problem with accepting assigments/contracts or whatever when i'm the one getting screwed. 👎 as a practitioner

i was wondering what people's take on this issue was - in terms of what adcoms want to hear.

do you think it would work to say that while you probably would not accept certain assigments in your private practice that you definitely intend to help the underserved in your community by volunteering your services? b/c that i actually will do, but to say that i would accept certain contracts that i know i will NOT be accepting would be totally lying, and i don't want my bs to be detected 😳
