All three of my eLORs are being written by veterinarians...after reading other threads on SDN, I am wondering if this was a bad decision. Should I have asked for a letter from someone outside of the veterinary field?
Two of the vets writing letters work at the place where I have been a vet tech for almost two years. The other vet is a professor at the vet school I am applying to; I took an upper level graduate course with him & also did an independent study project with him as well. All three vets writing me letters attended the vet school that I am applying to (which probably doesn't make a huge difference, but at least they'll be able to say whether they think I am a suitable candidate for the school).
I'm an older candidate (late 20s), and I really didn't feel like going all the way back to my undergrad professors for a letter. I have completed a master's degree, but I have seen one of the letters that my graduate advisor wrote for me in support of a job application, and although the letter said good things, I felt it was not very personal...it focused more on my intellectual capabilities and less on my personality & the "soft skills" that vet schools are trying to learn more about you in the letter. Do you think that the admission committee might wonder why I didn't have my graduate advisor write a letter?
This isn't a big issue...I think I am just beginning to freak out b/c the deadline is less than 3 weeks away!!!
