This is a question about "ties to state".

If I lived and worked in a state for 3 years, all my wife's family are there (and this constitutes all my family in the US since all my folks are in Europe), and we visit them quite often - can I exploit this as ties to state or will it look stretched and cheesy?

This doesn’t even seem like you’re exploiting it. It’s honestly a solid tie to the state
