Lets be honest here, physician salaries are LOW, meager, weak, any way you want to put it. Considering the 200k debt and 10 yr lost opportunity, physicians make nothing. All my friends did engineering, it, finance, and are now KILLING it financially. Dont let anyone fool you, going into healthcare for money is silly

with only 1 post count you expect people to take you seriously? 😕

Did your girlfriend just break up with you or something?

just get an MHA and become hospital CEO to receive a nice 700k income not including bonus and incentive pay!

Does that phoenix school offer one of these MHAs?.....They must be pretty amazing if they can replace the YEARS of experience needed to become a CEO!

Thanks for the breaking news.

Re: Dental school after Medical school (Harvard)

I am in medical school at Harvard and I am having doubts about becoming a doctor (anesthesiologist) because my tuition is through the roof. I also hate medical school because it is so tough. I am thinking about switching to dentistry school to make more money sooner. I am in it to make money.

I need help deciding which dental school to go into if I drop out of Harvard medical school. Which dental school is the cheapest in this country? I do not want to owe more than $200,000 in debt which I know will never be paid off in less than five (5) years. What dental school is the easiest to get into? Which dental schools in this country have the highest passing rate on the state examinations?

Someone please answer!!!

Only about 300 of the 5,800 hospitals in the US have physician CEOs! All the rest are run by health administration grads!! LOL, docs are just pawns in the game!!!!!

Whine all you want, but medicine does work out well, financially speaking, for some people...

Okay okay, 5/10, good for you.

I did engineering and am not killing it financially. I work at an industry leader in my field, did leadership training programs, and do well compared to my peers (6-7 years out of college with a masters) but I'm earning well under 100k.

Honestly, I'd rather see patients than be a hospital administrator, even if I'm "losing out" on money.

Someone didn't get medical school their first couple of tries. 🙄

"Do you have a degree?"

"No, but I have a WONDERFUL personality!"

That usually works for me. Why go to college at all. Waste of time.

You wanna make money...be a really good doctor, despite what the averages might say, and the 'bleak future' for physicians wallets, if you do what you love, and are truly outstanding in your field and exhibit passion for your work, the money will be there. For example, I go to a large research university, with several thousand faculty members, ect, and a recently published article in our student newspaper said the highest paid member of our faculty is the chief of orthopedic surgery...including benefits, his paycheck was a phone number last year

Reads post... applies to MHA

right, you will be one of the 5,500 who becomes a hospital CEO, get real man! (there are over 800,000 physicians).

Additionally, people don't become CEOs of hospital until they are at least late 40s if they don't inherit it.

Poor you will have to do with less than 700k from your 20s to your late 40s.

lol thanks but no thanks. Not all people who are going to medical field are only into it because of money, some people (like me) do actually WANT to go not just because of money but because that's what I wanted to do.

Do you even know what it means to be CEO? To become the CEO of anything you need to build it yourself (good luck) or you must have amazing connections (which you dont have judging by your lack of knowledge of how the world works) as well as a track record which makes you a null liability (also something you dont have). Best of luck
