Here is my situation: I am a junior right now. I took the DAT this summer. I have a AA 20, but I only got 15 for RC and 18 for PAT, so I guess I have to re-take it. I want to re-take it next summer with 1-2 months of study. I know the earlier you apply, the better. With the fact I need to re-take my DAT, what is the best time to apply so dental school can see my new score and my application is still considered "early"? And also, do dental schools look at your application at all without my re-take DAT score?

Submit your application during June so that you will hopefully be in the first batch and let schools know that you are retaking the DAT. It takes a couple weeks for the scores to be uploaded so ideally you should take it no later than in July to be considered early.

Depending on when you retake and when your application is received, they may look at your app with your current score so notify them that you are retaking and try to get that in as early as possible.

i would definitely try to apply before September just in case you want to spend some more time studying for your DAT. ofcourse, the earlier the better. getting your DAT done in june would be wonderful and you can always put your application in and then tell school that you are retaking it.
