Doesn't anyone other than myself think it is quite ridiculous that Harcourt refuses to release the amount of time per each section on the PCAT? I mean, seriously...how is anyone supposed to know. I called and asked because I have seen some conflicting information via the internet. The woman I talked to said that she can't release the information, but because there are fewer questions now, that the timing may be less. WTF?!?! Can anyone help with the amount of time per section now, seeing the test presently has a different number of questions per passage?

I remember it being in the league of 45min or 1 hr per section and there are about 5-6 sections (2 parts for one section of the exam. For example, i took all the sections, then had an additional Biology section)

The math section was 45 minutes for 65 questions...definitely watch the timing for that. Be able to do decimals, scientific notation, fraction, and percent calculations quickly. Reading was also 45 minutes...don't remember how many questions. Chem and bio and verbal were 30 minutes each...cannot remember how many questions because it was back in October 2003.

I think chem and bio are 30 minutes each, and have 60 questions each. At least that's what the Kaplan review book says anyway. I was told at the UNC informational session that this year PCAT will have a critical thinking(essay) section, in which you will have 45 minutes to complete.

A essay section?!?! Oh geez! This is sounding more and more like the MCAT everyday! In reading the PCAT info booklet, it states that "critical thinking skills are also measured in items throughout the test and in a separate essay section. THere is no separate score reported for critical thinking at this time". Okay...so there will be another section to the PCAT then, correct? Does anyone know what the essay section entails?
