I'm not sure if someone has made a post on this before but I have found out what immunizations I need to have/don't need to have and am wondering... how much do quantitative titers cost to get? I don't think it is covered by my medical insurance. Just wanted to get a rough estimate of how much I should be expecting to pay out of pocket.
Thanks for any info.

300-400 dollars off the top of my head. I think that was for 5 or 6 titers, a MMR, tetnaus, and something else that I seem to have forgotten....

If you know you had the shots and know who gave them, make the physician cough up the records or ask them to pay for your titers. It's been illegal not to keep vaccination records as permanent documents for about 20 years now. There is liability associated with breaking the law. If it has been over 20 years since vaccinations, you're stuck paying for titers. If you never had the shots, you need shots, not titers.

Or, is some school requiring titers even if your shots are documented?

My university health center did them for a very nominal cost..I think about 30 dollars or so.. Can't remember right now..ALso there might be health clinics that are part of your local hospital that are funded federally that may be able to do them for alot less than 300 dollars. It all depends on your area.. Just call around.

Are you enrolled as a fulltime student at a University?..If yes, then this service should be cheaply available to you..

Hope this helps..

thanks for all your help.
to answer your questions: yeah my school is requiring quantitative titers even if i have documentation that i've had the shots. positive results and dates administered (documentation/shot records)isn't good enough. i'm taking summer school so i will look into that suggestion on checking out the school clinic(didnt think about that too much...thanks alot 🙂 ). i'll also look into clinics in the area when i move down to l.a. for summer school.
