According to the rules they laid out, it is 'other science'. I had two independent study bio.. and I had to list it as such.

Mine still says "Submitted to TMDSAS" only, so I guess just change it under the credential tab will be sufficient?
 
OK, so I corrected a typo on TMDSAS the day I submitted, and then submitted. Now, reviewing my application again today, I see that the error is still present. I corrected it. I have no clue why it is still there. They've told me that typos aren't able to be fixed. What's bad is not that it's a simple typo, but the system prompted a previous answer when I typed "5" for an hours per week blank, then tabbed to the next blank, leaving a date for that blank. I corrected and saved the application, but apparently it didn't register. Frustration. How many hours per week? and a date as the answer...doesn't make much sense.
 
So has anybody received any sort of communication from any of the TMDSAS schools?
 
I'm a Florida Resident. On the residency page, it says
Is there any additional information that you believe TMDSAS should know in evaluating your residency?

Should I mention that I am about to move to Texas, and getting married with a Texas resident in July?

Tech sent me a few e-mails. First to ask for my secondary, then to acknowledge receiving my secondary, and last to tell me that they'd download my app from TMDSAS in a couple of days.

It wouldn't hurt to mention it there. However, Texas is strict about residency... I doubt that it would help but give it a shot.

When I applied my optional essays were short. I just said what I wanted to say and left it at that (2-3 paragraphs maybe) Don't waste their time or yours trying to make the essay longer. Quality not quantity.
 
Half of my optional essay got cut off...I think there was some type of technical issue when I submitted...has this happend to anyone? Please help, I'm freaking out!!!!!:scared:
 
After submitting my app, I notice that the SAT score doesn't show up anymore. Anyone else notice this?

I just double checked my app and this error is not there. E-mail and/or call right away to figure out what happened and possibly have it corrected.

My app doesn't show SAT score, it shows high school, graduation date, class size, and rank. Is this what yours shows?

I'm still waiting on TMDSAS to submit my app to schools, even though I submitted my app to TMDSAS on 6/12. Anyone else experiencing such a delay?
 
I've finished the secondaries for Tech and A&M but I never got any emails from them about the applications being complete. I'm guessing it's because I'm still waiting on a committee letter to be sent out from my school...I did receive an email from TMDSAS about my primary being "submitted to schools" and another one from tMDSAS reminding me about my missing letter.

Anyone know the time frame my file will be complete if my letter is sent out this week? And am I still on the "early" bus?

What's the date that you submitted your application? I submitted mine on 6/12 and I'm still waiting for my application to be submitted to schools.

I submitted mine on the 6th of June (a Saturday 😳)
 
Hey guys, I just noticed something on my submitted application. When I click the coursework page tab, all of my graduate science classes have been changed to 'other science' (biochemistry, physiology, etc). I know I entered them as 'Biological Science' because I saved the pdf file when I submitted. Did they change them?

Edit: Oh, I guess graduate classes can't be classified as BCPM. I'm sure AMCAS allows it. Hmm...

I know I've heard this asked (maybe I asked it) but does anyone actually have any verification of MCAT scores other than "Test Scores -> Yes"?

I don't know if this has been asked, but for the awards is it okay to combine things, like if you get in dean's list for multiple semesters.
 
Hey guys I have a question:

When I was asked to upload my picture to the TMDSAS, I don't know that they want passport photo, so I just chose one with me standing somewhere in the campus. And I have submitted the TMDSAS already. Is it acceptable? If not, what to do?

they wanted a passport photo? i just used one of me standing somewhere too. my passport photo is horrendous. i'm totally looking over the camera. what if someone doesnt have a passport?
 
My photo was totally homemade.... Stand in front of a white wall, set camera flash delay to 5 sec.
Press the button, quickly run to the wall, smile 🙂 [Kachin] Done
Totally random, but since they didn't specify any requirements for the photo it should be alright.
 
I submitted my app on 6/10, and today 6/30 I received an email saying that my app has been submitted to the schools.
However, the transcript and Letters received still shows 0.
Is this normal? How's yall's look when it's submitted to school?
 
how do you access the secondary apps?? i clicked on the secondary app for UT southwestern and it says i need a password and username to create a new application...and my TMDSAS username and password isnt working for it. anyone else have this problem or am i just an idiot??

my transcript and letters show 0 as well even though it says theyve received them. its just a glitch, shouldnt be a big deal

You have to make a new username/password for each of the secondaries. Later on you'll use your TMDSAS ID so they can match your secondary up with your primary.

I have two transcript request forms each for my two different schools...what does that mean?

they each have different numbers 😱

I'm guessing you just created it twice. You can log into interfolio (use your TMDSAS log in info) and delete one of them.
 
I was wondering if it is a good idea to explain low grades in one of the two optional essays. I've read mixed comments on SDN and am a little confused. I do have an upward trend after I figured out I wanted to do medicine. I addressed when I became interested in medicine in my PS and my upward trend does correlate. I was thinking about adding it to the first optional essay about unique/life experiences. Thank you for your help.
 
Ok, I just called TMDSAS today, and they said the only difficulty they have right now is about the transcript being showed as received, everything else works fine. So if your letter says 0, it means they really DID NOT receive it, not glitch.
My cortisol level just spiked......... sigh

I uploaded all my letters and Committee cover letter to my interfolio accout. My school told me that the Comittee Packet request form is not necessary so I didn't turn it in. The situation right now is, Interfolio showing letter as received and TMDSAS is not. So Interfolio got my stuff but didn't send to TMDSAS? Do I need to make a delivery to TMDSAS?

Only if you have a reason that is actually good and unique.
 
Ok my TMDSAS app have been sent to schools and now I am just recalculating my GPA and there is a huge error.

I calculated all of my courses, including the ones at community college (3 of them), and did not include the plus or minus according to their system and my cGPA is not the same as theirs including the BCPM. I just emailed them and hope they can fix it. I recalculated many times to make sure. Did I do the method in calculating my GPA right?
 
To anyone who has been processed:

At what point did the status of your Transcripts in the post-submission section stop reading "no"? My transcripts were received a few weeks before I submitted, and it still reads "no". Just wondering if I am missing something...
 
I have a MCAT retake planned for 7/30. I will have submitted my app before this but the new score will not arrive until 9/1. Is this considered late as a Texas applicant?
I'm also interested in TCOM. Do they play by the same rules?

I've been wondering about the same thing too, but I asked ppl in the MCAT section and they said it's not terribly late. It's always better to have a good prepared score instead of a rushed early not done so well score. So prepare well and you won't have to worry about being late.
