I submitted on the 14th of June, and my application final changed to the "submitted to schools" status today. How long after the apps are "submitted to schools" will it take for an actual person at the schools to review it?
Does your LOR says 0 received too?
No, they got my committee packet and transcripts a few weeks back before I submitted...the transcripts are the only thing I wonder about.
Do you mind telling me how did you submit your committee packet? I wonder if I made a mistake in the submission process.
Thanks
I'm from UT Austin by the way.
My adviser sent it, I believe digitally.

Did you turn in the committee packet request form? I believe that's why TMDSAS didnt' get my committee packet, but my school says its not necessary.
I know that the "received" section is dictated by the registration of the bar code on the form upon arrival, so if your form was not included, the committee packet could not show as received, as someone has not manually gone in and changed that yet. They may have it, but the system doesn't recognize it. Definitely something to call and bug either Anne or Nicole about (I'm sure they hate me by now for precisely that, but I love 'em).

No, the only UT school with a secondary is Southwestern. Also, does UT-San Antonio have a secondary? I heard someone say they didn't, but I don't remember who or if I trust them ^.^ I haven't found it online so far
UNT is not a UT school. I said that Southwestern is the only UT school to require a secondary. This is the pre-allopathic forum so UNT has no business here.Well, Southwestern and UNT at least, though UNT is osteopathic. Their secondary is extremely lengthy. Glad to hear San Antonio doesn't need one though.
True, UNT is not a UT school and is osteopathic. But since this thread is about TMDSAS and questions about the application and schools, I find it reasonable for UNT to be included in the discussions. 🙂UNT is not a UT school. Wow, UNT starts early. UTMB doesn't start until August 31 and I can't wait. Let us know how it goes; I've heard they don't make it any easier on their students than the MD schools.True, UNT is not a UT school and is osteopathic. And if y'all have any specific questions, I start in 2 weeks 😱😱 Shoot me a PM 🙂
For the unique experience optional essay, would writing about a service trip to central america be an appropriate topic? If so, would writing this experience in the healthcare activities section cause this to be redundant, despite the fact that I can present much more information in the 2500 char essay than the 300 char activity description?
Prompt (from Application Instructions)
The first optional essay asks you to briefly state any unique circumstances or life experiences that are relevant to your application. This is not an area to continue your essay or reiterate what you have previously stated: this area is provided to address any issues which have not previously been addressed. Optional Essay 1 is limited to 2500 characters, including spaces.
Guess I am in trouble and may need to re-think my essay. Unfortunately I've already briefly touched on the topic I was going to use (a tiny paragraph in my main essay) but I figured it was a very unique life experience so I could actually expand on the details in the optional essay. Do you think that's a very bad idea even though it will be adding much more information rather than reiterating?
I submitted my TMDSAS application on 6/14 and I still have not had TMDSAS send my application to the schools. I've read that other people who sent theirs in at the same time as me have already had theirs sent to the schools. It has been over 3 weeks now, should I call or e-mail them yet, or wait until 4 weeks has gone by?
Never mind, they sent my application about an hour after I posted this question.
My TMDSAS and AMCAS applications were verified and submitted the same day (7/02). I have already received emails from many of the schools that I applied to using AMCAS but have heard nothing on my application status from TMDSAS. I know it has only been a few days but the reason why I am concerned is due to an email from TMDSAS saying that it sent my application to the following schools but did not list any schools after that remark.
Does anybody know how long it takes for the Texas schools to reply on receiving your application from TMDSAS?
I am in the same situation. The email from TMDSAS said it sent my app to schools, but didn't list any, I think it's just a bug... as always.
Do Texas schools even notify you when they receive your application? I don't think so, but correct me if I'm wrong.
I did receive an email from Tech saying that I didn't finish my secondary, but I think they only got that info because I registered on their web.

I'm a Florida Resident. On the residency page, it says
Is there any additional information that you believe TMDSAS should know in evaluating your residency?
Should I mention that I am about to move to Texas, and getting married with a Texas resident in July?
Besides cher, has anybody heard from ANY of the schools?
I still haven't heard anything
Hey yall,
I just got an email from UTSA saying that my application has been considered complete and was sent to their admission committee. My letters and transcripts still say 0 and I sent mine on June 6thish. I also recieved that email saying that my application was submitted to schools a few weeks ago.
got the same email today
Wow! I can't believe how many of you have already submitted and verified your TMDSAS applications. I am still waiting for TMDSAS to receive my transcripts and LORS even though the fee and the rest of the application as been submitted for a while.
Is anyone else still waiting for transcripts and what not, or am I way behind by Texas standards?
TTU el paso offered me an interview today, but im havin trouble with merlin and getting a date set.
Congratulations meerkat and good luck!
Check TMDSAS again, they posted the following message:Here is something interesting, my application status on the TMDSAS site changed to "submitted to schools" on July 2nd, but when I logged in today, my status was "transmitted to schools"! Does this mean something magical has happened since the 2nd or what? 😱
So my application status has changed to verified... what does that mean?
