Heck, you'll hear my screams of joy regardless of where you are.
Sorry to hear that man. Does this info only apply to OOS applicants? If you're out of state and have not gotten an interview, you've been rejected.
I called admissions at Texas A&M and that's what they told me.
Guess my GPA, DAT and ECs didn't mean much to them.

I'm in state and haven't heard back from any of the 3 yet... applied in early July with (what I think are) decent stats...
I believe they waited after 30 days period. If someone turns down an offer in December, is that admissions offer immediately sent to the next person in line or do the schools wait for the 30 days to be completed?

Yep 30 days. The second round of acceptances will be sent in January/February.I believe they waited after 30 days period.
For Baylor it's not important. As long as you have all the pre reqs and your bachelors degree done by the time you start D1 they don't care.Does anyone know how important it is to complete planned coursework if accepted to a Texas school (particularly Baylor and San Antonio)?? I listed 9 hours of post-bacc coursework for the spring that are not pre-requisites, and it sure would be nice if I didn't have to take them
Did they state that in writing somewhere? I'm really leaning towards dropping the courses if I get accepted this cycle, but I wouldn't want to have a potential acceptance rescinded for doing something dumb like that ):
Will do. Just prematurely clocking out in my head now that Dec. 1 is so close lolol
Haha it's all good. We're all nervous

She said the same thing to me last cycle (I was also in a gap year as well). I didn't take any additional courses and it was fine. If I hadn't gotten an acceptance on Dec 1st I probably would have considered it though.I'm sort of in the same boat. I was advised to take some sort of science class next spring during my A&M interview because I am in my gap year. Dr Miller said that it looks better when for me when it comes time to make a decision about me. I'm currently signed up for a class in the spring, hoping I land an acceptance from A&M

1500 yikes.Nice. I am debating whether I should drop it if I do get accepted or not.... I know it probably won't matter, I just don't want to seem like a guy who doesn't do what he says lol. But I also don't want to pay $1500 for one class
Any advice?

I would wait until Thursday and see if you get an acceptance from them. If so I would just drop the course as long as it isn't a pre req or something. Just call Mrs. pledger and let her know before you do it though. Historically they're really lenient about it.
Just as an FYI A&M doesn't rescind acceptances lightly. You have to do something really terrible to get an acceptance revoked lol.

That moment you realize December 1st is next week...
Anybody hoping they get rejected by one of their top 2 so the choice is easier?
This probably has been asked before but does anyone mind shedding some light one what the Houston interview is like?
And I thought I heard something about them only accepting half the class on Dec 1 and the rest later?

On planned coursework, like Advance said, A&M suggested my wife take a few more advanced biology/science classes. She put them on her planned work, but never took them... worked out fine.
Good luck everyone! I really can't believe Dec 1 is already here...
It was at 7:30am last year.Since December 1st is right around the corner, I know Dallas (A&M) and I'm pretty sure that San Antonio release their first round acceptances at 12:01 AM on Dec 1st. That's tomorrow past midnight.
Can anyone tell me when Houston releases? I heard that it's at 7 am but does anyone have insight?
It was at 7:30am last year.
Baylor did theirs a little different. All the emails didn't come all at once. It started sometime around midnight and finished around 1am.

An hour later.
Usually late January for the 2nd round. Not sure about the 3rd.Anyone know about the timing of second/third round acceptances?
When would interviews go out for the 2nd round? Sometime around now, or a few weeks into December??Usually late January for the 2nd round. Not sure about the 3rd.

Typically Texas schools don't interview past late January. When they have 2nd,3rd and 4th arounds of acceptances they choose from the applicants that they have already interviewed. The last interview date for UTHSCSA last cycle was 1/25 houstons was 1/26 Those invites either go out before the Christmas break or early January right after the break. If applicants don't have an interview by late January that's when rejections go out. As @simplydds said after the 2nd round they send out acceptances more frequently to try and fill the class. When would interviews go out for the 2nd round? Thanks! Any idea on how they do their acceptances?Really relaxed, one long interview with a faculty member 45 min - 1 hr. They ask you specific questions from a sheet, the interview feedback on sdn is rather representative. "Three words to describe yourself" "three words to describe why you like dentistry" "describe an ethical dilemma you solved". Lots of room for off topic conversation in the interview.
