too early?

Hi
I am reapplying to dental schools next year and I was planning on calling schools to hopefully talk to adcomm's. Is it too early to call with everything happening last week? Especially with the schools here in NYC? I was thinking of waiting a couple of weeks...any suggestions? Thanks!
