Hello everyone,

Before I begin, just wanted to say that I have been browsing this forum for the past few months, and it has been a great help to me. So, pats on the back to those who take the time out to help fellow dental hopefuls.

Onto my question:
I am a Canadian student, and have already submitted my application to AADSAS in June, and received my pink confirmation copy. However, I have yet to sit the DAT, and expect to write the Canadian DAT in November...does this put me at a disadvantage (as far as timing goes)?

Secondly, if I decide to take the American DAT, is the end of October too late?

I think some schools have deadlines for how late you can take the DAT. You may want to contact the adcoms of the schools you have applied to. The sooner you take it the better as far as your application being considered for interviews. However, you have to weigh that against being prepared for the test and actually doing well. Call your adcoms.....

im exactly in the same boat. I can take it now, but I would rather take it in november when i know im ready for it... I think most deadlines are like after December anyways...(I think), atleast for all the schools that I applied to, so I think you should be fine....i wish u the best of luck

thanks for the advice swim...

glad to see that I'm not alone phosph...I was beginning to think that I was the only person who had not written the DAT
