argonana said:NOT Vandy because I'm going to bomb my interview on Thursday. 😱
(This is what happens when fools like me are still dragging along with secondaries when interviews begin.)

What is YOUR top choice of medical school and why? Thought it would be interesting...

Any school in the West Coast because it is West Coast.ChungMooDoc said:Top choice right now is either harvard, penn, or Umich

AggieJohn said:I notice that no one lists any Texas schools. Are Texas schools low on the Med School list? I ask because it would be in-state for me, and I probably have a much higher chance of getting into a Tx school, but I'm curious about other schools.
UCSF (yeah right) UPenn (yeah right) but considering the whole package (nice curriculum, good financial aid, high stats, chances of getting in) BAYLOR COLLEGE!! I still haven't heard from them 🙁 gotta have the interview! gotta have it, gotta have it!radioh3ad said:i wanna go to cornell. now.

It depends on the school for sure, but yeah...you can save a ton of money. Plus there are a lot of state schools that have a pretty damn good reputation, like UNC, UVA, U Florida, many of the UC's, UT-SW, etc. If you want to save money and eventually practice in your home state, I'd say going to your state school would definitely be the best idea. It might even increase your chances for a good in-state residency than going to a private, out-of-state "better" school.IgweEmeka said:All this talk about in-state tuition...do we really save that much as opposed to paying a little more and going to a "better" school?
I personally would love to stay in-state and be close to home.....friends would be close, I can stop by my crib to eat some of my moms cooking whenever I want instead of taking out more loans because I am eating out daily, and plus I would love to practice in my home state.
