i was curious in what's everyone's top choices after interviewing at various schools. i suppose the easiest way to do this is to list all the schools we visited, and rank them in the order of our favorites. so, here goes:

1) uconn
1) columbia (can't decide between the two)
3) tufts
4) upenn
5) boston
6) umaryland
7) temple

i was particular shocked at how impressed i was with uconn. in any case, december 1st is fast approaching and i wish everyone the best of luck in making it in at his/her first choice! ;)

I like seeing peoples' impressions of other programs...well, here's my list of schools and order of preference as it stands now...

1. UPenn
2. UNC-Chapel Hill
3. UCSF
4. UConn
5. Columbia
6. Pacific
7. U. Maryland
8. Tufts
9. Louisville

Headed to UCLA next week, expecting it'll crack my top 3 choices, and Harvard after that. Penn just truly impressed me, the people, students, program, environment...Also very impressed by UNC, my state school. reena...I also left UConn very impressed w/their academic training, students, and administration, but just didn't feel comfortable at w/the notion of just being within the confines of that huge hospital/research complex all day...I'm more partial to having a full campus experience....

Declined interviews @: U. of Washington, BU,
U. of Michigan

11 days left....

 :)

Here are my choices:
1)UNC
2)UOP
3)U of MI
4)UCONN

I'm still undecided about the top 2 choices (I know, they're pretty different schools...)

hey caligirl, yeah i heard from UOP on Friday (my roomate took the message for me)... so i'm in!!! what about you?

Here are my choices in order...
1)UCSF
2)UPENN
3)Columbia
4)USC

good luck....

Here is my top 5 and this is based purely on interaction with and info provided to me. I have seen only a couple informal introductions as I live in Washington hard to get around, more conservative with the money (you all know what I am talking about)
1) gotta be UW
2) Creighton
3) BU
4) UConn
5) UCSF
I pick UW as they pick 85% instate students, and they define the frontiers of Dental Research. I am a WSU student so yes I pray to become accepted to the rival school. GO COUGS (err. and puppies too)

Pac10coug, did you interview at Uconn? Have you been accepted to Uconn?
Flowerpot have you been accepted or interviewed at Uconn?

pac10coug (or anyone else),
what do you know about creighton? i am not from the midwest and it is difficult finding opinions about their school. you seem to be impressed with the program there if it is your #2 school. have you been accepted there? any information would be great.
thanks

I just went to an interview at Creighton on Friday. The school was fantastic. They see thousands of patients a year, and because there are no specialties at the school, the Dental students see all of the cases without a specialist swooping up the larger, more interesting ones. Falculty seemed helpful and the students all seemed happy with their decision to attend Creighton. Cost of living is much less than the east coast schools and the cost of attending school is low as far as private schools are concerned. When I applied there I did it basically because I was from Nebraska, but I came away very impressed with the school, even after seeing BU and Tufts last month.

1) U. of Washington
2) USC
3) UCLA
4) UOP
