Congratulations to all of those who got accepted.

thanks for helping in advance

I just receive an interview invitation by mail today. Does any one know what interview day they are available now?

I finally got my interview invite in the mail! I thought it would take longer to hear back from Touro since I just barely received a postcard from them that my supplemental app was received 12/29. I can't wait to call and schedule it, I wonder what interview slots they have open...hopefully its not until the end of April :xf:

I have just received my supplemental application was completed today.

Hi Guys

Help with the supp essay any idea is welcomed. Please share your experience in writing a good and a thought provoking essay. Anything goes 😍

Hey can any of you help me with the question, WHAT DO YOU FEEL IS THE MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGE PHARMACISTS WILL FACE IN THE COMING YEARS? WHAT WOULD YOU DO TO OVERCOME THIS CHALLENGE? I've tried to think of different things, and I've failed.

I totally forgot to ask in my last post, but does anyone know roughly how many applicants Touro University will be interviewing this year?

I could help you answer those questions, but then we would have the same answers in our supplemental application.

I know this is pretty late now, but I don't know if I should submit my supplemental to Touro this year. Seeing how it is a rolling admissions school and I still have some pre-reqs to finish. Also, based on my application to UCSF, I don't know anymore if my personal statement and stats are strong. Can someone advise whether or not it's wise to spend the money for this cycle. I still have some time to improve upon my stats with a couple of classes left including Anatomy and Micro, but I don't like the idea of taking a year off. Thanks!

Hi. Congrats. Me too. I'm really nervous though, this is going to be my first interview ever!

Hi. Are you going to get your bachelor's by the end of summer term? if yes, I think you should apply, if not, don't waste your money, focus on your remaining pre-reqs. I'm sure they will consider you next year. By the way, don't feel bad about getting rejected by USCF, it's on e of the best Pharm schools and they usually consider students who have completed all their requirments at the time of applying. If you decide to take the year off, try to improve your application by working in a pharmacy or Doctor's offices, if you can complete a pharmacy technician, it would be great.

Good Luck.

I am still working on my sup app to touro. I might not submit them any sooner. Touro is my last choice since I have received two invitations of interview. I want to wait to see how I do in these two interviews.
You should submit your sup app to touro as soon as possible. I heard it is pretty easy to get in.

I'm officially awarding you with the 'biggest slacker award'--congratulations. You waited until January to apply when applicants have been interviewing since October 10th and you're asking an internet forum to answer your supplemental questions for you. I reach into my magic bag and find ZERO sympathy for you. Wake up child, you're applying to a professional institution.

You heard it's pretty easy to get in eh? You speak in disgusting generalities and scream of naivety. Putting a school on the back burner while you "see how you do" at other schools is a horrendous mistake. I hear of so many people delaying their apps or interviews to hold out for other schools which is, in my opinion, a slap in the face of entropy. And entropy's a bitch you probably don't want to slap.

Hi

I think you should still apply for Touro. Last year, I also didn't wanna take a year off and applied to touro late but I still got interviewed in April and got accepted! Try your best, it'll be worth it 🙂

wheres the sympathy that (I'm sure) you addressed in your own applications?

everyone has their reasons...sympathize, not criticize😎

@freebird76
depending on where/when you interviewed, i doubt you'll get news of the result of those interviews before the touro's supp app deadline.

@iluvsprinkles
you can try googleing it :-/ im sure the search result will spark some type of idea

Thanks for the heads up on where to stay. My interview is on Jan. 29th and I'm flying in from Florida. I am excited and can't wait. Good Luck to everyone!
I recently sent me supp. I was wondering how long after you waited to hear from Touro for your interview.

How long after the interview does it usually take for them to notify you whether you have been accepted? And if accepted, how much time do you have to decide whether you want to take their offer and put down the deposit? Are they flexible about this deadline? I mean, what if one has trouble coming up with the hefty deposit money in such a short period of time? Thanks!

Last year, I found out the result within a week. They emailed my acceptance news. As far as I remember, I had to make deposit within two weeks after they mailed out the acceptance letter. They are NOT flexible with this deadline- if you dont make a deposit, you're not coming to Touro.

Good luck!

You should most definitely finish out this application cycle, especially if you don't want to wait a year to get in. If for some reason it doesn't work out this application cycle, you're most likely going to be applying to the same schools next cycle. At the end of this cycle, you can call the schools and evaluate your strengths and weaknesses. But, you can't do that if you don't apply.

I know the concept of waiting another year to get in might seem unfavorable, but if it happens, make the best of it. Get a job, make some money, take a nice vacation, go skydiving or whatever your heart desires! You'll be surprised how much more appealing you are to admissions committees when you have interesting life stories to tell. I've taken two years off and its been the best time of my life! Good luck to you! Persevere.

what is your issue? it was a moment of panic. i don't understand how you can last out like that. does it really affect you that much? you certainly have a very condescending and abrasive attitude

I always find it comical when people ask an internet forum to supply them with answers to their supplemental. I suppose my issues are (1) You're lazy--anybody who took the time to fill in the 3-line response to this question would almost certainly agree (2) I'm amazed you're willing to put your supplemental responses in the hands of strangers behind a computer screen.

You're right though, this doesn't affect me at all; it affects you. Sorry if I was abrasive, I just really can't sympathize with your situation because I did my own application.

Good luck.

I wanted ideas, and I casted my net out far. Does it matter that no one in this thread answered me (which is understandable)? No. I did research, I asked around, and in the end, I wrote my own answer. I'm not asking for your sympathy, but I don't care for your judgment either.

I have a question for those in the San Francisco bay area. Does anyone know of where I can take either a human anatomy & physiology class combined with lab or even somewhere that offers the options of just taking human anatomy lab and human physiology labs? I have been looking at every community college around and everything that I could possible take is filled. I work fulltime so of course, being that I waited until a week before most classes start, the night courses are all filled up. I need the human anatomy & physiology labs as I only took the lecture portions at Berkeley and need these labs as a pre-req for Touro. If I can’t find anything soon, I may have to quit my job to take a day class! 🙁

Would it be possible for you to take the class(es) in the summer?

I am not really sure, I have to call and ask, but I believe I was told by an acquaintance of mine that you can do summer session, but it HAS to be completed by July. I checked out UC Berkeley Summer sessions already online and the Human Anatomy and Physiology labs I need run until 8/14. Does anyone know if Touro allows one to complete pre-req's in the summer session before the Fall you would start classes there?

P.S. Congrats to you too aftabgardoon! Are you going to be at the February 5th interview as well?

I had this problem too, right now I'm planning on taking it this semester at a community college =\ . Mr. Davis told me that you have to complete all prereqs before orientation and he said that the orientation will most likely be the first week of August =\ . you should probably check out community colleges or other schools around your area.

Hey spirospero18, so where are you taking your A&P this spring if you don't mind me asking? That is assuming you are in the SF bay area

I was under assumption that you had to finish your prereqs by Spring 09. Am I wrong?

I really hope that isn't the case....maybe I will make an anonymous call tomorrow to make sure they still accept classes taken during the summer.

What interview dates are currently being offered?

yeah on the website it says that all prereqs need to be finished by the end of Spring 09 semester or quarter. but I emailed Mr. Davis and he said that completing them in the summer is fine as long as it's completed before the orientation. you might want to email them just to be sure. I'm from the bay area but I go to school in san diego, so I'm taking anatomy at sd mesa college b/c UCSD doesn't offer anatomy o_o. it kinda sucks because UCSD is quarter system and sd mesa is semester, so I ended up signing up for the TuTh 6-10:05PM class x_x . I was also on the waitlist b/c I'm not a mesa college student, so that's why I freaked out and emailed Mr. Davis. community colleges usually start near the end of January, so you might be able to still sign up for anatomy for the Spring semester. or you can find a community college/school that has summer session end before the orientation. this is based off of what Mr. Davis emailed me, but contact touro just in case~

You have to call Julie Lee to get that info. I called to schedule one two days ago and she offered Feb. 6 as the earliest. It seems that they only do Friday's interview. I scheduled mine on Feb. 13. I am assuming they have interviews every Friday.

Grats to those that have been newly accepted.

Those with interviews this month, remember to dress warmly, especially those from warmer climates.
P-)

How did everyone do on those Jan. 8th interviews? Anything interesting the rest of us should know? I have my interview next week!....ahh!

How long does it take for Touro to send the supplemental application after pharmcas has been submitted? I applied last year and received one but I don't remember how long it took. I hope I get one this year.

So I emailed Julie Lee and she said that all pre-requisite classes had to be finished by July. Considering that a lot of schools in my area that I know of don’t end summer session until August, I am not taking any chances and going to try and register for classes for spring semester. I did find Human Anatomy & Physiology labs I can take through UC Berkeley Extension program, but it would cost me $1300 just to register. I am going to need to borrow some cash from some people ASAP LOL 😛

Hi guys,
Was wondering if you guys got a confirmation letter of your interview date from Ms. Lee in the mail after you made the appointment with her. How long did it take? I just want to get the letter before booking my hotel. Please help. thanks!

I recently sent me supp. I was wondering how long after you waited to hear from Touro for your interview.

I just received my supplemental app today. I'll try to complete them this weekend and mail it in this Monday. Hopefully, we don't have to wait that long, or unless if we don't make it to the next phase.

when i interviewed, there was 5 people in a group. I heard others had 7. But 10?

oh i meant 10-11 per day. And you are divided into two groups, so the actual interview would be 5 interviewees, 2 faculty members, and one student interviewer. Sorry for the confusion!

oh, thanks! just wondering what to expect.

i submitted my supplemental application back in september and still haven't heard anything! i know they received my application because i verified that with the admissions office. it seems like most people got interviews within a few weeks of submitting the supplemental. does this mean that i'm pretty much rejected and they just haven't sent out the letters yet?
