When I applied Touro was still working on its accreditation and I think more applicants opted to go elsewhere when possible, now that the school is accredited I would bet that fewer take that option unless they truly get a better offer for their personal situation.

Are you doing the Amb care rotation with UCSD? I remember the dean mentioning that newly established rotation during my interview.
 
I got waitlisted on High Alternative,

I thought I gave a good interview and strong application but I guess not. The bright side is this will give me opportunity to reapply next year to other schools. I'm definately looking forward to interviewing to UCSF. Ofcourse the question now is: what does High Alternative really mean??? do I still have a chance???

I'm gonna take this as a rejection (unless I'm at the top of that list, which I highly doubt, there's always someone smarter and with more experience)

High alternate is not a rejection. It's not really over until the first day of school starts. I remember them mentioning that people can be pulled from the alternate list until the first day of school.

There are ways to increase your chances of getting pulled from the high alternate list. They should have sent you a list in the mail (e.g. letter of intent, updated grades, etc.)

Thanks for the positive outlook, yes alternate lists are not a straight-out rejection and there is technically still some hope of being admitted. The fact still remains that the school has available seats and will continue to interview and admit desirable students.

An alternate list is not flat-out brutal rejection because good applicants with good scores and good enough interviews don't deserve flat-out rejections. They can simply be put on a list of 'alternates' which is like a lottery and the lucky few can be picked up at the very end. Not rejection but its like--better luck next time.

If you;re a strong applicant just apply next year.

I don't think alternate lists are lottery. From what I remember, when a seat becomes available, the adcoms review each person on the high alternate waitlist. So that is why you can increase your chances of getting in by sending in updated grades, letter of intent, etc.

Thanks for your last post. It finally explained to me this whole wait-list thing. I thought the committee has no need to review applications since they already did prior to making their final selections. My assumption was that they simply take whoever is next in line.

I sure hope this review process happens and if it actually does, then there's still good chance for each candidate to be re-considered.

I really do hope these posts help others out there as they help me sometimes. :laugh:😀
 
I have My interview Ist week of may. I am terrified :scared:bc most people have already intervied and gotten feedbacks; am probably one of the last to interview and the pressure on me is tremendous. Pls what should i concentrate on?...What type of Questions should i expect to see? How many people are going to interview us? I am reviewing my application and my supplemental application but am not sure if there are other important things i should also concentarate on. Pls HELP !!!!!!

Hi,
I will also be attending Touro starting this fall. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other places to check out housing options besides musticorealty and craigslist. Some of the craigslist options seem sketchy and the musticorealty site is a little slim on options for mare island. Thank you.

This is my first post on the site and I would like to first congratulate those that were offered acceptance to Touro. But, please, if you know that you have other plans and won't be attending, please get back to the school as soon as you can. I am sure everyone on the waiting list, including myself, will greatly appreciate that. If you had been waiting, you know how it feels. This means a lot to me. Good luck to everyone and never give up!

I won't be able to check out the place til June, as well. I'm not too picky so any nice place on the mare will do :laugh:. Let me know how your search goes

First of, I just want to congratulate everyone who were accepted to Touro for the classs of 2015. This is my first post and I'm also attending Touro this fall. I'm looking for a female roommate.
