I thought it's be good to have a thread dedicated solely to TRICARE questions:

Is tricare really as bad as the medical forum makes it out to be? From those who have been on active duty what are some of the experiences you've had, both good and bad, from being on TRICARE. One particular question I have is does TRICARE cover Chriropractic care? If so, what kind of coverage is it.

Thanks.

Good...they pay for everything for family members if those members go to a participating provider.

Bad, dh was really badly hurt and had to wait 4 days with shattered bones because it was holiday time and he could not get a referral to a provider. You are stuck. No civilian physician would treat him without a referral and he couldnt get a referral because his primary care manager was an A$$!!! So dh was in TERRIBLE pain for 4 days.

Bad...I was referred off post (I am AD) and during treatment my referral ran out so they had to stop my treatment until a new referral was put in which takes a couple of days so the appointment that I had set up 3 weeks ago had to be cancelled and now I wait for a referral so I can wait 3 or 4 more weeks for physical therapy I am supposed to be seen for weekly.

Like I said, it is all free though. I would have definately been willing to pay anything to have avoided my husband being put in the pain that he was in though.
