Hey everyone,

So im finally getting down to the end of interview season and struggling to make a rank list. So i have a general top tier but day to day the order changes and I would appreciate any input, in particular on thoughts on overall quality of education and lifestyle of the different programs. In particular the programs are TJUH, Emory, UF, UVA, University of Miami, USF and Vanderbilt.

Thanks in advanced.

IMO by reputation and my previous interview experience, Vandy, Emory, Michigan (assuming that's what UM means) are all excellent, UVA pretty close to that group. UF, USF, TJ are all a substantial step down from that. Lifestyle is area dependent and that's personal preference, but in terms of workload my sense is that Emory is particularly tough.

Sorry UM was university of miami and updated the post to reflect that. Ty I appreciate your input.

Emory, Vandy > Miami, UVA > Jefferson >>> Florida > USF

That being said, you're better off picking based on gut feel and location than some stranger's opinion on the internet.

I'll definitely decide my own line up but it helps to have different eyes and opinions. I only saw these places once when they were on their best behavior.

I pretty much agree with this order but would have Jeff equal or below UF.

Would you all say these orders are more in terms of reputation or overall education. Or do those kinda just go hand in hand?

Any specific opinions particularly for UVA and Vanderbilt?

More reputation than specifics of education. Nobody here has actually been educated at all these places, we just know by word of mouth which places are respected and which produce good people (or not).

Re: UVA and Vandy, I think both are really excellent and both were very high on my rank list back ~6 years ago. Differentiating between them will largely be on basis of location and specific subspecialty or research interests.

Anyone have any opinions on Loma Linda, Albert Einstein COM-Montefiore, Medical College of Wisconsin? Having a tough time ranking these 3 programs towards the top of my list.
Any advice on MCW at all? I’m really thinking hard about that towards my top. Especially as a DO from the Midwest hopefully I can impress enough

From my interview experience, the program seems very well put together for my specialty of interest. I'd have zero reservations about attending MCW, if only about actually living in the midwest/WI.

Milwaukee is a pretty cool city. I love the upper midwest though so I'm biased. I'm working through third year and already worried about putting ERAS together haha so i got a while
