I am interested in the ethical implications at play here. The report on Donald Trump's physical examination is loaded with extravagant language, with a strange claim that his health was somehow "unequivocally" better than many individuals whom I can safely presume had either never been examined by the physician, or had never disclosed their physical examination results to the physician. What gives?

Trump needed that glowing LOR from a physician on his app to make him really stand out as a candidate.

Does anybody actually believe that Trump has "no history of ever using alcohol"? Lol. I would be shocked to hear that he isn't a raging cokehead, what with his massive ego and constantly talking out of his ass.

Idiocy does not preclude one from good health.

As for the rest... are we honestly going to debate the ethics of celebrities/politicians enticing people to lie for them? It's not very original.

The claims that physician makes are meaningless and as you said extravagant. I wouldn't read too much into it other than he is probably very well compensated for his time. Not sure how much you would have to pay me to write such a letter, even if it were true, because the really troublesome ethical implication is that it is trying to deliberately mislead people (health = leadership quality) but I do know that it would be more tha Trump is worth if it meant my name being associated with his forever

Wonder if this is the same doc that attested to his "bone spurs" that got him out of vietnam?

Huh, I did not think that orange circus peanuts could be analyzed by a physician.

The story goes that his older brother died due to alcoholism so he only drinks Coca Cola now.

If he only drinks Coca Cola, then he cannot possibly be healthy. Lol. Those bags under his eyes worry me so much.

In my country we have a saying "baka wa kaze wo hikanai" which translates to "idiots don't get sick."

Just saying...

Lol! Ain't that the truth.

Also, I'm getting a weird North Korean dictator vibe from that physical examination. You know how a doctor said that Kim Jong Il never pooped in his life? It's why he's full of ****.

Say what you want about GWB, but that dude was in GREAT shape during his presidency.

Clearly from an n=1 we can conclude that a president's physical health is inversely correlated to the quality of his presidency.

I'd tell everyone his magical combed-over unicorn hair cured cancer for what that doctor gets paid.

So if his health is so excellent why is he on statins, and his doctor is a specialist?

Because everyone at his age is on aspirin/statin, all old people get colonoscopies and if you don't have a cardiologist at 70 despite no cardiac history, you're not doing it right.

But the guy is a gastroenterologist. I just find it funny that he is in the greatest shape of ANYONE ever, yet is on medication.
I was only being mildly sarcastic.
Good to know that there are physicians that can blow as much smoke as The Big D himself.

Gastroenterologists do colonoscopies. Everyone sees one. You will see one. The statin is a preventative thing kid

Yeah, but I work for a gastroenterologist, and I have for like 2 years now, and I can definitely say we're not the best people to comment on the overall health of an individual. :lame: I would say at least 80% of our patients we see once, for ten minutes, before doing a colonoscopy and saying "excellent, no polyps, see you in ten years!". We take a full medical history, of course, but we aren't directly involved in any of it...heck, we're lucky if we even see labs! Point being, I bet his hairdresser sees more of him than his GI, and is more able to comment on his overall health. How can his GI comment about his "astounding physical strength"...does he have him lift weights in the exam room? Do situps on the table before a colonoscopy?

Well definitely untrue re: statins, and there are some folks that just can't take ASA. Omega 3's, not a bad idea NECESSARILY (depends on the person and what he/she is on and such) for all ages. At the very least, perhaps eat more of the right kinds of fish, sardines, or take high quality krill. Some folks have learned to take care of themselves and are in great shape.
Donald, however, could not be a poster child for such people.

Sure Carson is ~5 years younger, but the man looks great. He has insight into how to take care of himself. "Carson, the only openly vegetarian candidate in the 2016 pool, has avoided meat for decades. He told the Vegetarian Times in 1990 that his religion and health concerns inspired his diet." I think he is mostly vegetarian, meaning very little to none at all.

I don't know what his exercise routine is, but that would be a biggie too.

I work in an oncology clinic, and it seems that only the really kind folks get acute advancement of their disease processes.

The dinguses live forever.

"We" being the staff, myself included, who do patient intake, take histories, and manage the charts. ;) Sorry if I didn't make that clear.

May seem that way, but in time you will see that it's true that "It rains on the just and the unjust."
And you might even see that there is something, indeed, very akin to Karma in the universe.
Dickish people eventually get back what they give out. Hopefully they learn and grow. Saddest part is when they are stubborn and do not.

He's contracted out Coca Cola to make him their special vintage blend using the old ingredients.

This doc signed the script for it.
