The Bio definitely has more weight.
The first time I took the DAT I got Bio19, Org18, Chem18, and a TS19, the second time I got Bio20, Org21, Chem21, and a TS20. It's almost like the others didn't even matter...

I agree - mine was bio-18 Gchem -20 OChem -20 TS-19
Yes, the TS is based on a scale with all 100 of the science questions (so, I suppose Bio would hold more weight than the other 2 sections since it has more questions). My TS was higher than even my highest of Bio, Chem, and OChem; some others have had this happen, too. It is definitely not an average of bio, gen chem, and ochem.
ok, i got a 21 in bio, a 19 in chem, and a 18 in ochem. my ts is 19. If bio weighs more...i would think it would have brought it up to a 20...since if you average these equally it would be a 19.44.
thanks
Maybe if you got somehting like 18.5 for chem and 17.5 for orgo and something like 20.5 for bio, then it prob would average out to 19 with more weight for bio, of course.

TS is scored (bio x .4) + (gchem x .3) + (ochem x .3) quantity divided by 3 since there are 40 bio questions, 30 chem, and 30 ochem. I have no idea how it would be possible to receive a TS that was higher than any one section...
If that's the case then they definitely don't round up...

Sorry mackchops, that would make way too much sense!

Nah, or else I would have had a score about 3 pts lower. As the official score sheet states, "the Total Science score is a standard score based on all 100 questions in the Biology, General Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry tests. It is not the average of the three science standard scores." And not a weighted average, either, I guess 😛 I guess your raw score out of 100 is used to obtain the standardized score.

I think you and mackchops are saying the same thing. Raw score out of 100 equals weighting each section individually based on the number of questions and determining the score based on each weighting
