I believe that the level of difficulty of getting in to a particular program is based on so many different things that it's impossible to make an absolute statement on whether it is "easy," "hard," etc to get into. Tulane has a good reputation, especially for international public health, and a lot of people apply there (regardless if those people end up going somewhere else, their application is still competing with yours)...Also, with SOPHAS, you enter your under-1500-word-career-goal statement and if someone doesn't like your writing style or doesn't think it seems focused then you could be passed over even if your stats are higher than other applicants. I'm sure you know that's true at any school and nothing is guaranteed until you get accepted.
Tulane is also my top choice (International Health and Development as well 🙂 ), I THINK that I have a strong application: graduated cum laude from undergrad, GRE 620V, 730Q, 5.0A, and I'm a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, so I have over 2 years experience working overseas with many of my projects focused on health. However, I am SUPER nervous, haha, and am not banking on getting in to any particular school...I have no idea what the stats are of other people that are applying, and maybe my background isn't as strong as I think it is when compared to other applicants...I'm just applying to a few schools that I would be happy going to and hoping that I get a positive response...at this point I've done my best to make myself a desirable candidate so it does me no good to worry (easier said than done, right?).
I would just breath and wait and see what happens, there's nothing else we can do right? Haha, just hope for the best and keep yourself open to all possible outcomes, that way you'll be happy no matter what happens 🙂
