So May 15 is just around the corner. Can I get a show of hands on how many people are waiting to get off Tulane's waitlist? and who is actually taking the acceptance?

I have a feeling that were gonna hear very soon. Tulane doesn't miss around like that, there are about business.

Anyone has any information (good or bad) about this waitlist?

anyone know if they call/write/email if you get off the waitlist???

abefroman: i have a feeling that they are gonna call. i recall something like that. have you called the adm office or pisano? I was thinking of doing that, but i didnt want to pis$ him off. what do you think???

i would like to hear from tulane as well, i was put on the waitlist way back in november, it is my second choice school. i really want to go to drew/ucla, but tulane is a close second. i had such a nice interview experience there. anyhow, i'll post if anything comes up. i sent a letter of interest, how about you guys?

hey guys -

Well, there already has been some waitlist mvmt. I got the call on May 1. Tulane was my very first choice. I actually went down in the middle of April to talk to Dr. Pisano about getting off of the waitlist. I had sent a letter of interest after i got waitlisted in nov and a letter of intent in the beginning of april (i think). To tell you the truth, I am not sure it really mattered all that much. He said to me that the score the committee gives you when you are voted on the first time kind of dictates if/when you are pulled off the list. When I was down there he said that there hadn't been any movement off of the list as of then, but that he hoped to pull of about 20 before may 15th. He told me I would probably be about #10. He didn't give me the impression that the waitlist was gonna move all that fast or that the flood gates were gonna open on May 15. I would say that if you are near New Orleans (I am in atlanta) and can make the trip to meet with Dr. P == DO IT. It is definately why I got in so early. If you can, I would also get him to read your interview reports so you can find out why you are waitlisted and then show him why you should be accepted.

I'm in waitlist purgatory also. Although at this point I have already started looking at condos/apartments for another school (I'm 95% sure that I will be going). Ho-hum. I really liked the school and the students at Tulane. It looked like it was would be a lot of fun going to school there. 🙂

Well I am also still waiting and I definately will attend Tulane if taken off of the waitlist. I just sent in an update letter/LOI. I really hope that I can attend Tulane because I liked it the most out of the medical schools I have visited. Does anyone know if they call or send you a letter to let you know you have been taken off of the waiting list?

They call. Then they send a letter like 2 days later.

i called the school and the adm office said that there hasnt been any movement off the waitlist yet. also from what i understand, the committee is dr pisano. he decides if you get a interview and if he want you there. but this is all second hand info, i think jen might be right. good luck and please let us all know the minute you hear anything.
