Does anyone have any experience with Tumescent Local Anasthesia for a vein clinic? I believe it's delivered subcutaneously. We have a doc who is starting to use it and it contains some epinephrine (60 ml of lidocaine and epinephrine 1:100000) along with 440 ml of NS and 16 ml of Sodium Bicarbonate 8.4%. We are wondering if we need to be using telemetry with these patients with the epinephrine being small and it being locally administered. Basically it's a money issue as I believe administration doesn't want to buy the equipment or move the patients to the equipment. How do you facilities handle this? Any input will be helpful.
