In reviewing Tuskegee's prereqs, they specifically state Biochem with lab, 4 hrs total. I will have 6 hours Biochem by the end of summer, but they are lecture hours only. Does anyone have experience with them to know whether they will substitute the lecture hours for lab? I've attempted contacting them with little success. I can't seem to find any prior posts that mention this either. I have zero desire to take the lab and I'd rather not waste money applying to a school where I don't meet the requirements.

You have plenty of time to make the decision about Tuskegee. It's not even September, yet.
You may want to call or e-mail them to find out if they will be strict about the lab component. I know there are Tuskegee people on the forum on occasion. They may be able to give you some pointers, as well.

I applied to Tuskegee last year and came across the same problem. I took biochem (it didn't have a lab) but my school listed it as 4 credit hours. When I called and asked if a lab was needed in addition, the woman that I talked to said as long as it was 4 credit hours it was ok (with lab or without). I did get accepted (so not having taken bio chem with lab didn't hinder me from getting in) and the credit for biochem never came up as an issue. However, I chose to go to a different school so I don't know how it would affect you in the long run. I'm thinking your 6 credit hours will be more than enough for them. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! That is certainly encouraging. I was (finally) successful in reaching someone at the CVM. She was very nice and directed me to the Dean of Admissions, where I reached voicemail. The story is "to be continued" for now.
