Hello there,

I'm currently volunteering at a community policing centre. Where there are a lot of activities to do, for example, fundraising, publishing articles, patrolling, and much more. However, it's not health related, but rather a place where I can contribute my time to serve the community. I was wondering if I will be credited if I continue volunteering there?

Not only that, but I am also volunteering in a thrift shop (affiliated with a local hospital) that help purchase new medical equipment for the hospital. After April, hopefully I will be able to work in the emergency/waiting room where I can have some clinical experience.

But anyways, what do you think? Will I be credited in volunteering in a community policing centre? I am also planning to volunteer in a local cancer agency in the next year so.

I really like volunteering, not because I want to goto medical school, but I like to give something back to the community.

Yes.

And it might even be better in that it's not the typical premed volunteering gig.

It will always be better to volunteer doing something you enjoy instead of trying to pad the ol' resume. ADCOMS will see right through you if you do this.
